    Salty Captain

Hi all, Has anyone used the product Salty Captain? Is it any good or a waste of money? And do you use it to flush your motor or just for washing? Any comments appreciated. cheers Greg
  2. Thanks ED but I already have life jackets.
  3. I have given it a go in the past. That’s why I’d rather pay someone to do it properly. Bit late when the boat is sinking to find out that you suck at it.
  4. So, basically, there is nowhere on the Northside to service jackets.
  5. You’ve given up snapper for the year remember.
  6. Well, I know absolutely nothing about this topic, but my understanding is that your outboard will charge both batteries regardless of whether the isolator switch is set to 1, 2 or both. The switch only dictates which battery (batteries) discharges (provides) power.
  7. The crew saver ones are very compact but are about $180 each.
  8. The trouble is if you want something very wearable and auto, they are a fair bit more than that. Just want to get them serviced, not analysed .
  9. Really just looking for a northside life jacket servicer/checker. Whatever.
  10. Well the jackets cost me about $150 each so I’m hoping the service charges aren’t that each year.
  11. Thanks for the advice @Ed. but I’ve already got a wife.
  12. This has probably already been asked on here before but I did a search and stuffed if I could find anything. Might just be a combination of the anaesthetic from today, mixed with the multiple beers and wines I’ve had since I got home. The anaesthetist did say drink a lot of fluids when I got home! Who am I to argue? Anyway, I have a few inflatables which are due for their yearly test, and being the lazy barst—d that I am, I’m looking for somewhere to get them checked. The only place that I could see online was at Slacks Creek, or somewhere near there. As that is on the dark side of town, I am loath to go there. Lol. I am looking for somewhere on the superior Northside. Anyone know of anywhere?
  13. I’m not interested but you should probably put a price up.
  14. Just saw these on Catch of the Day. Not sure if they are any good or how they actually work but thought it might suit Hamish or others with kayaks. They are actually cheaper on other sites I noticed. Around $55. RAILBLAZA Kayak Sounder and Transducer Mount with Rotating Platform Head Unit
  15. And it might even win the whole comp, what with lockdowns, poor weather, season closures etc etc etc

    NRL 2021

Great game! The Eels nearly had it!
  17. Dang it @Drop Bear! So sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news but I just noticed you didn’t use a measuring device in any of the photos as per the competition rules, so they don’t comply. You’ll just have to go back to each location and catch them again. And you’d better get moving. The comp is only two months long! No, hold on! Just checked. It’s only a month long! You’re gonna be tired’er than @benno573 after his crocodile infested round Hinchinbrook trip.
  18. Oh, c’mon now Hamish. You even photograph your bait! Just get @Drop Bearto send you one from his extensive collection!
  19. Did you end up buying one or did you take advantage of the @Drop Bear benevolent fund?
  20. All look very legit and above board to me. And you have had the extra month to catch them.
  21. Great story. I would have been worried about crocs as well as everything else. They are definitely there. Glad you all made it safely. I’ve been to Hinchinbrook, albeit many years ago, and remember that walk through the mangroves to the ocean beach. I think we even walked up to that lookout. But as for the rest, no thanks! Admirable effort mate!
  22. Damn near identical, aren’t they!
  23. And here’s one I caught today. Note the four fingers. And the beautiful blue sky and calm seas. Great day out there.
