  1. Hey jon It's looking very much like you've caught another trophy fish. The snapper in your profile makes you look tiny Cheers Hamish
  2. Cheers for the offer KM. I'll be after a 7 footer (but if a really good deal on an eight comes up I'll take it). I don't mind the normal bottom pocket net, as I'm just collecting bait. My budget is $50 max, as I'm just looking for a good second hand deal and they seem to come up too (and it can't break the pocket money bank which has not had any money put in since my Birthday... I'm a bit lazy today ). Cheers Hamish
  3. Hey Davo00 I've never been there, but it looks like it'll be a fun spot to visit on your trip. Here are some website links I've found (you may have already seen them though) - https://taylorsbeach.net/gallery/fishing-at-taylors-beach/ Just realised those are offshore (or reefs), sorry. Hopefully you have a great time. Seems you can get grunter, barra, and a couple other things in the creeks though. Hope to hear how you go! Cheers Hamish
  4. Yep, I realised I should've kept my eyes open while waiting for that other one because then I would've snapped the $20 net up quickly, kmcrosby78. I've also been looking through some other things and found some decent deals on reels, rods, etc. They'd be the perfect thing for anglers starting off as they look in good nick and are cheap enough so if you break it it doesn't really matter! Cheers Hamish
  5. Hey Jaz44 Thought I'd just say good luck in finding a boat. I really hope it goes well for you. Must best advice would be to read reviews before you buy it, and if possible go for a test drive. Cheers Hamish
  6. The person who had one up for forty-five bucks never got back to me (I sent two follow up messages and they've seen them), so I'm guessing they already sold it. Lucky I found one for twenty dollars, (in 'good' condition). Only problem is it's in Cambridge, Tasmania. Lol. Shipping will probabnly cost twice as much! Cheers Hamish
  7. Hey aussie123 Best of luck with your cancer. I hope it stays away forever now Cheers Hamish
  8. Unlike your bot GregOug, which looks like it would bloody cause a volcano eruption if it went up a creek, kayaks have the element of stealth and do not cause volcano eruptions when the outboard is turned on Cheers Hamish
  9. Thanks for the tips samsteele115. I'll be using them whenever on the yak in the river. They're the perfect thing to throw around structure while my dad or I does cast netting. If we stop at one of our spots, one of us can walk up and throw it around mangroves or something while the other is throwing the net. They seem quite versatile. One trip I want to do with my dad on the school holidays (coming up) is a trip to the GC canals targeting bream... only problem with such light line is when bigger fish (like a cod) bites on. Might have some trouble getting one of them out of snags. Also, just a question, can they be used at night with efficiency? I'm thinking of flicking along some spots this weekend because Saturday night is the only time I'll be getting out (if my dad ends up wanting to go out). Hey kmcrosby78 Haha, yep. Hopefully I don't get snagged or busted off so I can keep using these! I also hope I can write up some good stories about them in coming times (and not the donut variety)! Cheers Hamish
  10. Hi all Just wanted to say a massive thanks to @samsteele115 for mailing me some bream lures and leader! They're in great nick and look fabulous. I cannot wait to catch fish on them (hopefully!) Excitement! Woohoo! I can't thank you enough Sam. Also, my dad and I are hoping to get out for a session this weekend so we're going to try these at the mouth of a little-ish feeder creek. (If we find time for a fish). Cheers Hamish
  11. Nice one. That jack is a good fish. Must've been great fun on ten pound. I have never caught a jack (not yet) so I hope to get one sometime (even though that may be in X amount of years ). Cheers Hamish P.S. I am multi-tasking now. Japanese work and AFO!
  12. Hi Do$tylz Geez, that looks like... Extreme awesomeness! . Must be great fun staying there. A private fishing jetty for you and your mate. I hope you mange to smash a few bigguns soon. Maybe at Summer time you (will hopefully) get a jack! What species can you catch there? (I'm assuming bream, cod, flathead, whiting, and the odd bull shark in Summer?). Cheers Hamish

AND... He's gone! I'm curious to see who'll be next. Cheers Hamish
  14. Lol. Thanks ellicat. I was making this series of photos as you sent it Pike meme.docx Cheers Hamish P.S. Don't be offended Northsiders. I would never catch one of you (unless you're a pike, eel, pike eel, blah blah) P.S.S. Sorry if I offended anyone (for real). I mean it 100% as a joke
  15. Ooh, some good tips there too samsteele115. You really are da man for this sort of stuff! Also, @ellicat, I see you have the link to the site rules just below whatever you post, and I've seen different things like that for other members. How do you get that on your posts (if you don't mind me asking, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how. Lol.). Cheers Hamish
  16. Hey samsteele115 Holy crap! That would've been pretty hairy. I've only been in a sit in kayak in small swell (trying to get used to going over swell) and flipped as I was coming back in. It was hard to get the sand out of my hair that night I have never capsized in the ocean with the yak loaded up. Expert tip about tying things on with lanyards. I suppose the only reason I don't do it is because we're rarely in rough conditions. I should probably fashion some so it makes it easier. Cheers Hamish
  17. That's sad and amazing at the same time, Breaming with bro. I'd be quite angry at the people who set the line. What is the point, honestly?! Cheers Hamish
  18. Hey ellicat and Old Scaley Nice one. Those are some good whiting, bream, and flatties. Maybe that was the real cobia the fella caught at Indro Bridge and it hasn't ever grown If it was an eel tail would it be in salt water? I hope you can go and smash some in the bay if the wind buggers off. Cheers Hamish
  19. Hi Breaming with bro Jeez, that would be the fish of a lifetime. I think a 40cm model is hard enough to beat! Hopefully you can crack it soon. Before COVID-19, my family used to pretty much annually go to Brunswick Heads for a fish. The tackle shop owner (new tackle shop) has a PB breambo of 49cm, on chicken apparently. It may have gotten bigger since the last time I've been there though. Cheers Hamish
  20. Note this very new photo that was totally caught today. You can tell because of the three screws
  21. Couple of nice ones there Old Scaley. Good job. Will you be putting up a report today or not going to worry about it? Cheers Hamish
  22. Hey Dinodadog Another good session of yours. Nice one. Any size to any of them? Cheers Hamish
  23. It looks a lot more like a scat to me Daryl. I'd decided against saying anything so Southside could take out that category Cheers Hamish
  24. Hey Drop Bear I've found it to be both things online, so I'd imagine it could be either in certain context. I'll add it into my post now. Cheers Hamish
