  1. Hey GregOug Have you had anything yet? Or did you just get nothing? Cheers Hamish
  2. Good job samsteele115, that's a pretty good tailor Cheers Hamish
  3. I think most fishes will be better if immediately iced down and chucked in a slurry. I've read this so many times about how it improves the fishes eating qualities by a million. Cheers Hamish
  4. It seems as though you have no confidence in yourself to actually catch a fish. And with my (that's a crystal ball so I can see into the future), you're not getting any! Lol.
  5. Shame you didn't get any, Leosonfire. The squid must've been an OK capture. I'm surprised that nothing liked it seeing as though it was as fresh as it gets... Cheers Hamish
  6. Great fish Allnighter. I'm sure he put up an excellent fight. Southside is leading! Woohoo
  7. Well I know who's being talked about if someone is referred to as a 'loopy Northsider'.... GregOug!
  8. Hi Farmer John I don't know about anything past/around Gympie, but some spots around Brisbane may be the Brisbane, Logan, Albert, and Pine rivers. These all seem to produce at different times for people. I could dig up some reports if you'd like? The fish you'd be wanting/targeting here would be flathead, whiting, bream, threadfin salmon, mulloway, estuary cod, prawns even (though it's not season right now), river perch, puttynose perch (that'd be a by-catch species mainly), flounder, and a couple others. Some species you'll only get in the Pine, but others (like threadfin and mulloway), you'll get more in the Brisbane. Cheers Hamish
  9. Hey Breaming with bro I must say I don't know where they're coming from. The only reason braid would snap on the cast (in my opinion), is if a big leader knot is tied and hits one of the guides (bye, bye, shark rig ), or if the bail arm flicks over mid cast and the line snaps. Maybe they got an unlucky spool? My line doesn't snap when I give it a big cast, and I've still caught half-decent fish on it. There is only one way to find out though if you like it or not, so you may want to give it a try... I don't think I just got a 'lucky spool' either because I have it on my 1000 Sienna, 2500 Shinobi (Diawa), 650 Penn, A crappy Size 5000 Jarvis Walker reel that we've had for five years and still catches fish, and it is soon to be put on my 2500 Nasci Cheers Hamish
  10. Hey Drop Bear Sounds like a fun little fish. Good you got you and your nephew out and caught some. Hopefully they'll grow up big soon. Cheers Hamish
  11. Looks like you may have painted yourself green since the last time I saw you GregOug...Oh, and you might want something done about those toad warts on your back... Cheers Hamish
  12. Yeah, good job Allnighter. It appears to be just legal. Hopefully we can take the lead with that one Southside! Cheers Hamish

Looks like Seibold is going to get the sack or resign. I get the feeling he's not very popular with fans (and me too!) Hopefully if they get Kevin Walters for the coach he is a bit better! Cheers Hamish
  14. Hi Breaming with bro I've never used it, but there's only one way to find out if it's good! If you want some cheaper braid, I can personally vouch for Pryml. They make good gear, and there braid is very good. I use it on my heavy and light rods. I can fit approx. 150M on a size 1000 Sienna, which is pretty good seeing as though it's ten pound. J-braid is a bit to much for my dad just to go splashing out on all the time, hence why we use Pryml. Cheers Hamish
  15. Hey all I'm crook right now (AGAIN), so while I'd normally have sneaked out for a salmon session this arvo I might be down for a few days I might get tested for Corona Virus tomorrow! Cheers Hamish
  16. If you think you could win it GregOug, I believe that would go to the 'bullshit' category. That should probably be negative points Cheers Hamish
  17. Thanks Drop Bear Cheers Hamish
  18. Hi all A quick report. It's nothing worth making a new topic about. After my basketball game, I set off. I got there at four-thirty or so, and we first planted some trees. We got to where we were camping, and pitched the tents. Then we stayed around for a bit to wait for dinner (sausage sizzle). After dinner, we went down to the creek, which was pretty shallow at the start. The next morning we woke up at ten to six and looked for worms/grubs under the cow pats for live baits. It wasn't wet enough though, and we ended up getting our friends to bring us some bread. The first spot was to shallow, and after a short trek we got to a deeper spot. I casted some handlines out with bread, and after a while we still got nothing . I had a shrimp trap made out of a bottle too, which wasn't getting anything either. We went back to the first spot and stayed there for a bit mucking around. No fish at all... Bugger! We went back to the house for breaky, which was some nice cereal (and much needed as we were all starving). We packed away our gear and cleaned up, so we went back down to the creek. This time we were cleaning up the logs in it, to stop it from blocking up. We went back after morning tea for some tasty lunch, and then packed the tents away. Finally, we went over to the cows and fed them some hay/wheat. They were quite fun, and very passive too. Back near the house we just relaxed until we went back home. The farm is in Kilcoy, so it was about a two hour drive. A very nice trip overall! Being out in the bush was great! Cheers Hamish
  19. Hey rayke1938 You should've told me! I would've came down with my kayak and tried to catch one too! Cheers Hamish
  20. Hey Sneaky1 Well, what a piece of crap! Hopefully those kids can stand up to him, seeing as though they aren't breaking the law. I hope he is caught. Like Andrew P said, Fishwatch would probably be the best way to get him! Cheers Hamish
  21. Hi Daryl That's awesome! Great job. Some lovely feeds there. And good to get your kids right into it! I've only caught a few legal whiting in my life, as they are quite hard to target around me (Brisbane River). My dad loves them though (his favourite fish, or one of them), so I may need to convince him to take me for a session down there. Cheers Hamish
  22. I'm hoping you'll be all good GregOug. I'd doubt they'd stop you going from Fraser, and apparently we've only had 2 new cases today. Cheers Hamish
  23. Hi GoingFishing Flame tail snapper are a deep water fish, often around bar cod. They are in waters well, well offshore. Watch some of Sammy Hitzke's videos on deep dropping on YouTube for a few pointers on these guys. I'm not sure of pearlies, but they also hang around deeper water and strucutre (i.e. rubble patches). Also, be very careful when going out very deep. Often times you'll be away from any land remotely and if the weather gets bad you'll have to be real careful. Pick your days well, is all I'm saying Cheers Hamish
  24. Oh, and can you tell the new language feature I've learnt GregOug. It's called a simile!
  25. He is as blind as a bat and will often over estimate his catches, I believe... Just something over confident Northsiders specialize in.
