Hey rayke1938 Good one. That is another great bass fishing session. It'll be good if rain comes. It certainly looks like it at my school right now (overcast). Cheers Hamish

Suburbs Of Origin 2020 - Competition Rules And Details

Good one Kat. That is a nice whiting. My PB whiting is only 26cm, something I hope to eventually improve. Lol! Cheers Hamish -
Hey samsteele115 Yep, I have seen too. I reckon the creek could hold some corker bream/flatties, judging by the amount of bait. Surely there'd be a jack or two around as well... Well I know I've been wanting that 300HP engine for the yak Dad! Thanks Drop Bear, glad you enjoyed. And we'll be remembering this one for ages as it was one of our first flatties off the yak too! Cheers Hamish

You can't beat the good old BCF sale Breaming with bro. It's like Chrissy time... (except you're only getting discounts!). Cheers Hamish

Hey Sneaky1 Cool! That sounds great. Looks like your wife will be giving you a good run for your money fishing now. Hope to hear some great stories Cheers Hamish

Hey Flynn Welcome to the forum. Hope you can find some valuable information on here. Any Shimano reel would be fine to take 10lb braid for squidding. I don't quite know about a rod though. Cheers Hamish

I also should say an interesting story... When on a Scout camp a couple years back, at Allawah (which is near Colleges Crossing), we chucked out a line with eel and prawn. While there was no fight to it, guess what comes in - a 65cm flatty. I was just sad after that I didn't get to reel it in because my dad thought it was a weed and let some others reel it in. Cheers Hamish

Bah. That's what ya said last time, Breaming with bro. And by the looks of it you got squat all? Cheers Hamish -
Good luck you two! Let's hope both your missions are successful. Cheers Hamish

Hey kmcrosby78 Thanks for that, hopefully I can work them out as good as the local park eventually Hi Sneaky1 Yep, a good day out it was, especially for me Cheers Hamish

Hey Sam Thanks for that, haha, I'd imagine the only thing they could catch in your wardrobe would be the odd shirt-fish I may have to try the bigger ones eventually too. I was actually trying to get a bream (but didn't use the light leader in case I hoked up to something bigger), so now I figure that the flatties will often hang right near next to the bank, as well as the bream I already am wanting some new plastics, Lol. I think you've gotten me addicted! Cheers Hamish

Looking For A 4000-6000 Spin Reel Under $50
AUS-BNE-FISHO replied to Brodie_S's topic in Tackle, Rods and Reels
Hey Brian Yep, that is a great idea. I have now become like @kmcrosby78 and browse Gumtree (I normally try to snap up dirt cheap cast nets or look at the reels for parts if there's no good deals), and I think you could easily find a good reel on Gumtree compared to a new one. Breaming with bro, here is my advice. If you get something like a $30 reel brand new, it's going to be pretty crappy. I think the Jarvis Walker 6000 reel I got lasted OK, but that's only really good for casting big baits. Keep looking on the second hand market for good deals, don't try and get a cheapy because it will be K-mart quality (or worse!). Cheers Hamish -
Hey Steve Great thread. Very good idea to give people a timely reminder. My dad and I always where our block jackets on the yak, not that we have been in very bad weather ever/that much. The one time when it got slightly hairy (even though it wasn't to windy a bit of chop makes it uncomfortable in a kayak), we got back in quiet quickly. I think it's important people can judge well when the weather is bad if they think it is not safe for them to stay out. I probably need to practise getting back into the yak myself. I can do it but don't know how easy it'd be for me to do it loaded up with gear if I went overboard. Cheers Hamish

Hey jon Thanks for that, it's pretty good I got it on the lure too. We really couldn't believe it, but I guess there's a fair amount of them in there. Glad you enjoyed the report Cheers Hamish
