  1. Looks like a bit of fun for those involved, GregOug. I hope it goes well for everyone Cheers Hamish
  2. Thanks Allnighter, hopefully the next time I'm out (fishing for snapper), I can put that to the test. Live bait is the best bait! Cheers Hamish
  3. Yep, he sure got a good one. The report (and pics) to prove it - Cheers Hamish
  4. Hey rayke1938 Good one, those are some solid fish. Cheers Hamish
  5. Yep, very true. Good looking vid Daryl, your kids are going to become famous on fishing YouTube sooner or later! Cheers Hamish
  6. Hey Nirvana Thought I'd just say good luck. I've got no experience in this part so hopefully it proves fruitful for you. Cheers Hamish
  7. That's almost as bad as me! Only a one year difference Cheers Hamish
  8. Hey ellicat Looks like a good little exploratory trip even though the fish wren't biting. Those are some of the best conditions anyone on the water could want! Hope you can smash a kingie on the reef. Cheers Hamish
  9. Hey Dinodadog Good one. Some nice fish there, and on spinnerbaits too! Cheers Hamish
  10. Nice cod and trev, Breaming with bro. Just remember to submit in the leader board category, Cheers Hamish
  11. Hey Daryl Great session - I could only hope I'd ever catch that many fish in one haul! Cheers Hamish
  12. Hey Meandlanta Sorry, I'm no good around Sydney as I've barely ever been there! Shakrs are most active when it's warmer, so I;d wait 'till it's Summer until you really get into them. The best bait I have found to be is mullet, but eel is also a good bait, especially when dealing with pickers (nothing will eat it except sharks). Try live bait also. Mullet, tunas, and oily fish will be your best bet. I'll love to hear how you go Cheers Hamish
  13. Hey Camplazlo Sorry, none that I know of. Second hand sites would be your best. Patience is key (and try and be quick too). I just snapped up a new cast net for $40. You just need to wait for the right deal. Cheers Hamish
  14. I would've thought you used letters. Then again, I guess you're that ancient... Cheers Hamish
  15. Hey Breaming with bro. That's pretty cool, especially since you got the fish on bread. I've never thought reefies would eat anything like that... But I guess they do! Bread seems to go quite good for you (all I've caught on it are bream and catties), but maybe trying more baits will get more different fish? Good job, Cheers Hamish
  16. Hey Drop Bear I do agree with @Old Scaley, but I suppose he should still be aware of what you're doing (or trying to be). I hate the bloody jetskis that come flying by every minute when you're fishing anywhere... But I especially hate when you're fishing landbased, and a boat comes by in the 30 metre 'no wash' zone, making waves you could surf on! All that does is erode away the mud, sand, and anything else Cheers Hamish
  17. The durries, of course! Hey shaun1800 That is what I'd call an exploratory trip. That's what you call a trip where you catch squat all and learn to do something... NEVER AGAIN! Bit of a pity about your gear but. Cheers Hamish
  18. Hey Breaming with bro Yep, that's what I'd do too. Filleting is simplest, even though you might not get the most meat off it. Cheers Hamish
  19. Nice Batfish, Breaming with bro. That isn't a short finned batfish, but if you do get a short finned one (black and white stripes), eat it! They're quite good. Otherwise, I think other batfish aren't the best eating, but tip top fighting. Cheers Hamish P.S. My wifi is crap at the moment so I am having constant connection issues.
  20. That would also be what some* of my friends look at in school. Lol. Cheers Hamish
  21. Hey kmcrosby78 Sounds like a couple decent sessions you had there, even though you didn't get the most fishing in on the trip. Good job. Cheers Hamish
  22. Hey Brian Sounds like you were relatively successful. Hope the marks will produce. Cheers Hamish
  23. Hey christophagus I really wouldn't be too sure, but I'd say that checker plate with carpet on it? It'd probably get boiling hot in Summer, so that's why the carpet as well. Cheers Hamish
  24. Hey Ed. Bugger that you didn't get any good fish due to the weather. Hopefully you can do some creek bashing and still manage some OK fish. Are there crocs up that way or is it not far enough yet Cheers Hamish
  25. That's a shame, samsteele115. The only GT I've ever had is freshly fried. The biggest I have eaten is about 45cm. If I catch one a bit bigger next time, it'll be coming home! Cheers Hamish
