  1. I can understand you visited China . China is a massive place and has a lot of nice places in it but most of China isn’t really that great . I doubt what @SuperHanswas saying is false I recall my mother talking about one of her friends moved to China and by the sounds of it China sounds very controlling just like a communist country is . China also tried covering up covid and made it a lot bigger then what it could have been because of it . There is also some evidence showing that covid was made in a lab then China lied about the market on top of that but that is just a theory and I doubt It’s been actually proven so whether that’s true or not idk . Bottom of the line is I don’t think chinas government is as great as you say it is no government system is perfect but There are better government systems then chinas
  2. Yeah I’d rather not buy products made in China especially fishing gear . Mainly because a lot of stuff from China is poor made not so much of China itself although I don’t like chinas government and political system
  3. If you’re scared of your information being sold or used don’t use or buy a phone period you can’t have %100 privacy when using a mobile phone mobile phone company’s require use of your personal data to do many things . Phones track you’re location foot steps and a lot more information a Common example of this is your phones microphone being used to help recommend adds for you if you say a random product randomly then go on your phone this product is likely going to be targeted to you in ads .on top of that apps and services use even more data to recommend ads and recommend news feed for apps like face book and Instagram although Instagram and Facebook take it a step further and sell you’re information to certain companies for profit . Everything you do on your phone has a digital footprint doesn’t matter if you delete history or clear data its still been recorded somewhere in your phone it’s just harder to access. Your phone also knows where you live where you work and then you’re asleep and so much more if your worried about your data being used or sold when using the internet I would recommend you download TOR onion browser as with tor it’s anonymous and leaves no digital footprint so it’s a lot harder to have your information collected
  4. Unfortunately I don’t think you can find this reel anymore maybe try gumtree or marketplace and you might be able to find a second hand one . Another then that I find this old reel schematic but I doubt you’ll be able to still order parts with it because it’s so old I don’t think daiwa stock the parts for it anymore . You could give daiwa Australian a ring and see if they can do anything or maybe find another reel handle that fits. Hope that helps
  5. (Any homes or businesses underwater) .. yeah there has been heaps it’s the biggest flood my area has received in the last 80-90 years or so it’s been crazy many house and businesses wore lost and destroyed because of the flood a lot of live stock died and some wore rescued to . Look up Taree/mid north coast floods
  6. Well my estuary system has been dirty for a few months now because of rain we have been getting so I haven’t been fishing for quite a few months the river was slowly getting better and I was looking forward to be able to go fishing then in the last 5 days this massive flood came and I’m not gonna be fishing my estuary system until summer or spring by the looks of it my whole town was basically underwater I went down to my local spot today to have a look and the river was up by like 20m I couldn’t even walk there because the water was so high no sign of the jettie or the whole fishing spot at all the whole area was underwater by heaps .heaps of trees had fallen there was destroyed cars and broken bits of road and mess was everywhere . It was tragic to see
  7. I’m always catching pike when going after other speices so they are a pest to me but here’s how to catch them step 1 you’ll need a light 1-3kg or 2-4kg rod around 7 foot and a reel around the 1000-2000 size loaded with 4-8lb braid and a 6-8lb mono or FC leader is ideal . 8lb leader is props better because they have sharp teeth step 2 grab a 1/8 jighead or 1/12 jighead in size 1 and rig it on a 2.5 inch paddle tail plastic I find daiwa and zman make the best paddle tail plastics step 3 cast around breakwalls because breakwalls is usually where you find big schools of pike or cast anywhere where there is a lot of structure or reef step 4 once the lure hits the water begin to very slowly retrieve for a few seconds then let it sink for a second or 2 whatever you do don’t let the lure sink to the bottom because pike always sit around the surface and mid surface area in the water and make sure you going as slow as possible without the lure going to deep and keeping it near the surface or mid surface a straight slow wind is all you need and make sure you keep tension on the line at all the times even when sinking so if you feel bites you can strike and get a good hook set step 5 just keep repeating this retrieve and making sure you cover ground and move around a bit until you find a big school of pike when you do you’ll catch like 20 pike in less then a hour. hope that helps edit generally pike hang around massive schools so keep you’re eyes out for schools of fish diving birds and big schools of small baitfish swimming around this is good indicator that pike are around and other speices like tailor salmon and small tuna and kingfish will likely be around to . The pike will be eating the smaller baitfish and everything else will be eating the pike . That’s generally how it works
  8. Seems like you stuck gold great job on the threadie
  9. Seems like you had a alright sesh those whiting look like they will be good . Great job on the threadie to they seem like a pain to target but rewarding when you catch a decent sized one
  10. Yes I seen a massive C$@K and all sorts it really annoys me when I seen them because they post in every topic
  11. Awesome sesh if only I was that good need some practice at offshore fishing . Great job on the Mackerel
  12. Sounds good hamish the 10lb Gliss feels similar to 6lb braid to me. Make sure you cut the tag ends of you’re knot as close as possible I cut mine a tad longer by the tiniest bit and got a couple of wind knots the other day I could all untangle them fine but it does damage the line near the knot when you do get tangles so always be sure to tie thin strong knots and cut the tag ends pretty much so you can’t see any tag while being careful not to snip the actual knot. Other then that Gliss has been a pleasure to use . Good slim knots like the FG make the line preform wonderfully
  13. Yeah I’ve found FGs to hold the best they are also slim to if you tie double uni’s or thick knots the gliss will tangle
  14. Yes lures are far better for flathead never seen the point of targeting them on bait tbh I think it’s a waste of time I think you would be better off targeting bream or whiting on bait
  15. Yeah I usually use market place but gumtree can be good sometimes to.but unfortunately there are dodge people on both
  16. If you keep anything like that I would throw it out straight away and wash you’re hands and definitely not use it for strip bait cause if you catch something using then infested strip bait the parasite will find it’s way into the flesh of that fish you caught and infect it . Shame it was a decent size flatty but you don’t want a parasite in ya
  17. That’s actually pretty helpful thks
  18. Sounds good can’t wait to hear some reports
  19. I would use backing for the braid but if it’s safe to spool braid straight on you’ll be fine . Also daiwa j braid x4 is pretty good for the price it’s around $20 for 150yd I’ve also been trying Gliss for awhile to but it’s still in testing I’ll give it at least a few more months before I have a solid opinion on it I have it spooled on 3 reels 10lb 13lb and 19kg. Gliss is around $10-15 for 150m or 300m
  20. I can’t stand worstelings at all . He just looks like a annoying and Disrespectful person to be around
  21. Yeah unfortunately some seshs are like that hamish hopefully you can get a few good ones in after these bad ones
  22. Fibreglass rods are thicker and heavyier and don’t provide the sensitivity/feel, comfort ,casting control and casting distance that graphite rods have also graphite rods generally give the lures a lot better action
