  1. Might buy a KIX LT in a few years and see how that compares to my Stradic
  2. That’s good to hear . I think it depends on how much grease they put in the reels in the factory . The aird had barely any grease in it . It was pretty much zinc running on brass with barely any grease . Hopefully the revro’s LT holds up well i personally prefer a lot of the daiwa reels over the shimano reels there just way to expensive to the point where I think it’s better to save money and I still really like my Shimano reels because there generally no fus reels that hold there smoothness well
  3. Unfortunately the reel isn’t gonna stay smooth is that’s what you’re thinking had a aird needed new grease after 6 months after hard use . Doesn’t help the aird doesn’t have the best gearing personally if I was to get a daiwa reel I would go for the Exceler at the cheapest I can say they are good reels . Now I’ve tested out a few different reels I know what I like now
  4. Not bad for a sesh before work seems like you a decent sesh . Awesome photos btw
  5. Is the circle suppose to be like this or this
  6. Yeah I’ve done that it does nothing I know other people that have done that to and it also nothing.
  7. Trust me you don’t want a windows laptop . I surpose if you’re desperate enough for a laptop but I have a passionate hate for windows especially when you’re half way into doing a project or making music and it decides to update thankfully I’m using my fathers Mac for music related stuff now
  8. Yeah sigh me up to I got my sedona 5000 ready for some sharks
  9. Fortunately it’s not soft as a sponge and I think it was just the last 10 metres that were soft because I stripped 10 metres of it and put more tension on it when I put the 10m back on my spool and it’s pretty tight not super tight but it should be tight enough
  10. Unfortunately I didn’t fit all the line on but I got most of it probably around 250m and I’m a bit mad because I didn’t put enough tension on my line it’s a bit soft it’s hard but not hard as I like it to be I can push my fingernail through it . I’m gonna still try it and hope the braid doesn’t cut in when I hook something big
  11. Awesome sesh seems like the guy you were fishing with was a top bloke unlike all of those junkies who decide to throw a line in next to ya lmao . I’m not sure if you know this you props do but instead of braces you can get invisaline it’s a lot better and less painful . My brother and mother got braces and I’m pretty sure it was a hassle for both of them . Also dentist try and get you’re money a lot of the time with braces . This is cause before you reach adulthood you teeth aren’t generally straight and the more you age the straighter you’re teeth get either that or they get worse .I remember the dentist wanted to get braces on me because my teeth weren’t straight fortunately my mom didn’t force me to get them and now my teeth have straightened up anyway I’m pretty sure I was 10/11 when then they talked about getting me braces I’m 14 now and my teeth are straight
  12. Lmao found this eBay idk if it would be as good as the Samiki ones though . But they do look very similar
  13. Just ordered 300m of 19kg line to go on my sedona . Thanks for the all advice
  14. Thanks I just like to have it tight enough so it doesn’t feel soft I like the line to feel almost rock solid on the spool . I know some people have fancy line spoolers for landbased game fishing and put heaps of pressure on the line like morningtide
  15. I have a Rod rack to store all my rods I keep all my reels in their boxes and store then in a drawer in my room I have a closet sort of thing hard to explain which I store my my fishing back pack . I have 2 containers in the back pack 1 with all my hardbodie lures hooks sinkers wire traces vibes etc and the other with all my leaders and soft plastics and I also have a small container in that container that contains my S factor and jigheads . The other pockets in the backpack contain my braid scissors my 2 knifes pliers and nail clippers I have a small bag that goes with all my reel box’s in the drawer that contains some spare tackle like 70lb and 20 mono which I don’t use often and some assist hooks and other small things. I also have a trolling rod in the garage which next door gave me it’s a excellent rod I just gave it a service and it heaps good haven’t used it yet . My dads got this trolling reel that’s super old but hasn’t been used yet it’s in good condition so it’s matched up with that just need to replace the old line on that reel . I’ll post some pics tomorrow
  16. Really would that work well? . I thought with heavier line you needed to put a lot more pressure on the line to keep the line nice and tight on the spool
  17. Haven’t been on AFO much lately . Due to muiltple reasons 1 my river has been flooded for a few weeks now 2 I’ve been busy with work and getting ready for the new school year . Anyway recently I bought 2 reels a 4000 sienna and a 5000 sedona the 4000 sienna has already been spooled with roughly 140-160m of 20lb mono but the Sedona I’m gonna put 300m of gliss which is like a braid . I usually get someone to hold the line spool via a pencil and they put tension on the line spool while I reel in the line but I’ve never spooled a reel with anything over 13lbs . I know the heavier the line the more pressure you have to put on to. So I was wondering what methods I could use to spool 300m of 42lb gliss on my own . I think the diameter of the line is 0.25 but I will re-edit that if it’s not .any advice welcome thanks
  18. Lol anyway seems like you’ve had a few decent sesh’s lately still waiting for another big salmon report though that would be good. Also when is the shark Comp starting
  19. Lmao yep thanks for the reminder there you go I responded lol
  20. Lol it’s late imma sleep respond to the report tomorrow
  21. Idk really know much about trolling but as for sight casting pelagics . I would recommend a 5000 Stradic FL matched up with a daiwa TD hyper spin rod 6-12kg you could use 300m of 20-40lb braid and that should do the job . That might be a bit expensive but idk really know you’re budget I just know pelagics are not merciful creatures and will absolutely destroy you’re reels if there bad reels . A big tuna GT mackerel or anything like that tests you’re drag it will test you’re rotor you need a strong rotor when using a reel for pelagics so it doesn’t bend and flex . It will test you’re gears if you Have small crappy zinc gears it will tear them to shreds even if you don’t horse the fish in . The stradics definitely pass these test . Hooking pelagics and getting spooled on the 1000 Stradic wasn’t a issue for me . The reel in Cooktown And the Whitsundays held up well and it definitely held up well when I was hooking fish that go for 50m runs in a couple of seconds most of the time I was losing fish to their sharp teeth to I came close to landing a few legal size mackerel after long fights but they snap the line with their teeth just as you go to land them . The GT’s just took me for 50-70m joyrides all the time before dropping the bait those were way to big to land on my setup they were props 10kg+ GT’s and at the Whitsundays I lost heaps of giants and now that I’m back home I’ve bought heavyier gear lol
  22. Laughs in not living in northern beaches lmao those northern beach cases were pretty bad
  23. Laughs in nsw
  24. I think airofu is after something more suited for bream and flathead fishing last time I checked 10’+ rods that cast 40G lures wore meant for beach and rock fishing . That’s why I mentioned the atomic arrows 3-5kg rods cause there are designed to handle those bigger flathead and they have light crisp blanks which is perfect for flicking plastics
  25. I’ve been having the same problem lately with just dud sessions due to river being dirty from all this rain it is now the flooding stage lol so no fishing for me anytime soon
