It was fun and a bit of surprise to hook on the whiting gear with a light drag. It was not long after first light on a Yabby. Actually the creek often has surprise catches.

Oh yes and nice fish! Are they good eating?

I have been fishing the creek land and boat based for over two years and until yesterday never once seen any sign of enforcement - have been complaining about it for months - more and more jetskis screaming up and down, young lads and lasses doing bunny hops and god knows what else in their tinnies. When we spoke to one of the Maritime safety guys he said there would be more enforcement - here's hoping

What is the new reel?

Partial nudity forgiven!

Hi Matt. My partner's parents live in Rocky and we fished offshore in Yeppoon for my Birthday in may. While we were there we fished a local creek a fair amount. We had some success there especially for being non-local - I don't mind sending you a personal message with a few marks (presuming I can find them in the sounder again ). Like Hamish said we would love to see some reports so hopefully you get out on the Jetty etc before you manage to buy the tinny! Good luck Cheers Kat

Apparently he didn't ask nicely enough

Great report Hamish. Sounds like a lot of fun on your holidays and you fished new areas? Well done on the flatties @TheCharliefisho!

He got the pliers but they might be thrown in the surf in the next couple of hours

Are you referring to me watching Brett throw a net? If so - yes get the shirt made!
-
So @Bretto77just told me after throwing the net for half an hour that he had to get fitter before going prawning otherwise the prawning sessions would be very short! I think he is fit enough already

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone - tight lines! Hope I can read some fishing reports in the coming week or two. Cheers Kat

Neither are the snapper, grassies, tuskies or any other fish you might expect to encounter - except for hardiheads and a few pike
