Nice work. It's always a bit of fun to get a little bully.
How heavy did you fish to land him?
Cheers Hamish
Thanks Hamish,
Got him on 40lb mono, was on a Shimano beastmaster TLD25 combo and a pre-made wire trace and 6.0 circle hook (80lb I think)
Was an easy fight but I think I was pretty over geared for him

Used both pilchards and squid

So I went around to the north wall of the seaway. Didn't catch anything apart from some pests (angelfish I think?)
Definitely a lot more active though I was at least losing bait
The rain eventually got heavier and I went home

O was listening to Doug Bert the other day. He was saying there's Jacks to be caught at the North wall in close. Might be a chance today as just before a thunderstorm is supposed to be prime time for them....just not a good time to be in a boat.
Might shoot around there and have a try
Cheers mate

Not really,
Currently sitting out on the Broadwater just inside the seaway.
Couple of small bream earlier but nothing now.
Was catching more from the bridge near home that since I bought the boat!

yep, new to offshore and will go out the seaway. I Have a good mate who spends a fair bit of time out there, will get him to come out the first time, and definatly waiting for the best weather/tides.
All those spots sound good!
I bought new Flares when i got the boat, still need to get a new EPIRB. I have life jackets on the boat but also looking at one of the inflating ones to wear full time

AUS-BNE-FISHO- a bit of everything really, boat was a combination of family fun and fishing. While I'm getting used to it chasing flathead, whiting etc in the Broadwater. Next stop will be the seaway for something bigger.
Ellicat- plan to for sure,it is very busy! I work a 2 on 2 off roster so when I am home midweek is free and should be quieter.
Just getting used to the boat myself before heading out the seaway as it is my first boat. Also for great weather.
I have been out there a few times with a mate and definitely plan to go after some Mackerel and Mahi Mahi. Just picked up a couple of 2nd hand Shimano beastmaster 15-24 kg rods with TLD25 reels for when indonget out there

G'day, Mick here
A bit of fishing experience but by no means an expert
Just bought myself a 5m seafarer Venus half cabin
I live right near the Broadwater and have a couple of kids. My almost 7 year old son loves to come out for a fish too.
