  1. yeah i got a curado 200xg im selling great all rounder for everything, i dont recommend the DC your overpaying for something that i dont think it worth it
  2. Hi guys im thinking of getting some new line for my 2500 luvias airity. Has anyone tried varivas braid in the 14.5lb i think it is and whats your opinion on it. Also gosen braid 14lb has anyone tried and how is it? I normally use saltiga braid or ygk pentagram and will most likely get that if i dont want to try gosen or varivas
  3. Honestly mate, definitely get the curado (non DC), im selling mine at the moment as i prefer spin gear but can highly recommend the curado. They amazing smooth and not going to break on you and very good for the price. The slx DC feels cheapily made in my opinion and feels very plastics. I dont normally like shimano but the curado is definitly my exception
  4. Hey guys, Im going this weekend to target jewfish threadfin and barra. Its my first time targeting barra and jew do you guys have any tips. I will be using lures
  5. used to have a stradic 1k and that felts amazing on the infeet z as well
  6. if your throwing mostly trebles id highly recomment daiwa infeet z in the regular taper. Absolutely amazing rod and cant fault it at all. The infeet z will balance perfectly with those reels even any 2500 you put on it. I used 2k freams, 2k luvias 2500 luvias airity, 2500 td black on my infeet and they all felt amazing
  7. braid is defenitly a better option, highly recommending making sure your fg knots is done well so it doesnt slip burning the tags with a lighter can make it a tad bit stronger. Also longer leader will reduce the amount of times to retie leader also in my experience gets me more fish
  8. yeah ill go to tackle store and get a feel of sizes of reels and what feels best on the rod. also considering getting a 4000 old saltiga to put on the spartan or an old 3500 saltiga. planning to go out on a couple mates boat so the rod wont be overkill at all. Was considering a PE2/4 or 4/6 since thats what most of my mates use when they go but i enjoy getting them on lighter tackle
  9. what lures do you throw, theres always the samurai reaction if your willing to spend a bit more and would definitly advise getting a super light one 1-3kg or 1-2kg and a slightly heavyer one maybe 1-4kg or 2-4kg
  10. so pe 2/3 would be about 20lb-30lb
  11. they say PE 1 is equal to about 10lb's
  12. its a heavy rod for the line weighting it feels light
  13. i missed out wanted to go so badly and me and my cousin were talking about it for ages, we ended up forgeting about it and i realised we missed sunday night
  14. Thanks guys for all the help, appreciate it. Keen to try the new setup. Spartan is super light which i love
  15. thanks mate, hope the 3k certate will fit the 73 PE 2/4 spartan and doesnt feel too small because then i might have to get a 4k or 5k
  16. not super deep, maybe 5m max. Chasing small pelagic small gt, small tuna
  17. Hi guys ive just bought a PE 2/3 rod. I plan to put a 3000 certate but would that be too small. Thanks guys
  18. a supercasta with a 3000 or 4000 reel with either 20lb or 30lb braid would be just find. Id say go for 3000 and 20lb, more fun and just a better fishing experience.
  19. ill be fishing on a boat off the port of brisbane and maybe a few reefs
  20. im gonna have a setup with 30lb and a setup with 15lb should be fine
  21. You've just confused the **** out of me as well, If your looking for roughly a 5-10kg rod id recommend a td blac supercasta or any PE1 to about a PE1.5 setup. Paired with this youd want something about 3000-5000. My personal preferance would be a 3000 or 4000 just depending what im targeting but for me i wouldnt go 5000. My 3000 and 4000 would have a PE1.2 braid or 20lb braid. My 5000 would have 30lb or about a PE1.5, Dont worry too much about the drag and rod breaking, if you have a quality rod you wont have any issues.
  22. Hi guys, I will be fishing the port of bisbane for jewfish and threadfin and later in the day for some flathead and snapper. Will a 1-4kg rod and 2500 reel be heavy enough for jewfish and threadfin? I will be using lures. Thanks
  23. I've been using both lures for ages, recently lost a 40+ bream on the cranka crab and find that the muss tends to catch more in shallower water, and crab works better or calmer days or with slight current
