  2. yeah been some tailor and schoolies there occasionally, never tried squiding haha wouldn't mind getting some to eat haha
  3. Hey guys just a quick question, Is Manly Rock Wall on google maps called Norfolk Point?
  4. heaps of tailor, found 85mm stickbaits worked well for longies and removed mack tuna as bicatch as a whole, still got a few. Purple, blue seems to be the colours that worked didnt really try any other.
  5. thanks for the help, i ordered some smaller metals so hopefully that works
  6. you sure that SEQ tho theres alot of hectic rocks in northern NSW but not many in SEQ unless you go to an island
  7. Hey guys, theres been heaps of tuna around as you probably would have seen over the past week and a bit. Im gonna go try get some tomorrow but want to ask what small lures you recommend since longies seem to only be hitting small lures. Been getting mack tuna on any lure i just out but longies are in the mix and only eating tiny bait. Also if i put on a 10g, 20g metal would that be too light you reckon for longies, i know i wont cast is as far as i would if i was using a 50-60g but that smaller profile might be worth trying to get the bite.
  8. beach fishing people tend to use longer rods i find, but off the rocks and headlands in SEQ its more of a pain and hastle handing and casting long rods. I find off the rocks i dont need a rod longer than 9ft at any time, if you have a good technique casting then you should be fine
  9. Hey, ive been spinning SEQ rods for quite some time and heres my take on it. Ive got through and tested many difference rods and reels rock fishing and this is what ive found, - if your after something longer, daiwa demonblood 932 pe 2/4 is great, has a great look, heaps of power and you can cast really far. great cast weight and youll have no trouble getting lures out there and working them - another great rod that is a bit shorter is the daiwa saltist hyper v2 M-OVER 80 pe 2/4, this is another great rod that has heaps of power and is great for casting on the rocks, sometimes that 8ft - 8ft 3 is all you need to get far out and is not too heavy or too long, it wont make you fatigued or super tired and youll still be able to cast all day without having too many issues. - and finally its a 7ft 6 rod but probably one of my favourites off the rocks, daiwa supercasta. an amazing rod that can land tuna mackeral to snapper and jewies. its a 5-10kg rod as well if im not mistaken but casting that is so nice. Another rod ive found similar to the supercasta is the daiwa tatula 762 7-15kg. Beware its a 7-15kg rod but feels like a 4-8 or a 5-10 however out of all the rods ive used under 8ft the tatula casts the furthest by about 10-20m. Ive casted further with tatula than i have with some 8ft3 rods ive used. That being said overall i do prefer the supercasta Reel wise, i do find longer the rod the bigger the reel youd want to balance out the weight. 5000 would be perfect for any of the rods but if you go with a 8ft 6 rod or over might wanna stepup to a 6k. Daiwa saltist mq is a great reel along with daiwa bg mq, and in shimanos range the stradics would be the best. SEQ depends where you fishing you might get some gts but arent that common. Therell be heaps of tailor and on some days Mack Tuna and Longtails. Along with that will be mackeral. Hope this helps. PS i havent read over it hope its understandable lol
  10. Hey guys, I am thinking to do some micro jigging with jigs around 7g, doesnt anyone have any recommendations, will be looking to get 7g, 10g and maybe a 15g but can anyone tell me which ones to get lol. Will be chased trev and might try for some bream on them as well, but mainly small pelagic so trev gt etc.
  11. this weather and all the wind is starting to get quite annoying, suppose to rain all next week but well see weather report isnt always that accurate lol. And wind will be another issue as well. I dont mind fishing the rain but from experience whenever its raining current is ripping, water is dirty and choppy and wind is bad, unless you have the odd day where its rainy on and off and its fairly warm.
  12. bcf is pretty much the most expensive fishing shop out there, theres places that sell stuff almost half the price bcf sells it at

    flathead

anytime man, theyll eat anything as well, use bigger luers though youll get more bigger flathead but also the small ones arent shy if big lures
  14. most of the time unless your going offshore 20lb - 30lb braid is the most you need landbased, you can get pretty much any fishing on 20lb landbased just gotta take your time if its a big fish. Whether your fishing super heavy braid or light braid once it hits a rock or something it snaps. An exception for that would be if your going for sharks though then you might want to go 50lb or more depending on the size your targeting Adjust your leader to the fishing your doing, black magic and fc rock are my go to for leader between 15-80lb. Having a longer leader will give some resistance again the pylons or any structure. Check out ygk pentagram, great braid, super thin and is super strong.
  15. yeah thats a good option, ill also use the combo when im not at fraser though, for sharks at a spot my mate got a 4m hammer
  16. will be landbased, planning to go off fraser someday with a mate.
  17. ive found it but i cant find any 80lb
  18. i found some nylon line online and was thinking of using it ontop of my braid for big sharks on an overhead, would that work?
  19. wow thanks for the info will def check it out
  20. Hey guys, i got another quick question, i looked up difference between mono and nylon, and mono is single strand nylon. If i go online a buy some 80lb nylon will be that mono or is that different?? if that makes sense Thanks
  21. Hey guys, do you guys know what size hooks are used for assist hooks on slippery dogs and sugar pens? Thanks
