  1. Princess Charlotte bay has a few good spots to hide out of the wind in between where you camp on the beach and Normanby river. One of them is called no name creek and you can hide up there and chase plenty of Barra jacks and muddies

    Fuel Consumption

Yeah what ever you used to have that got 4km per litre will near impossible to match with a 535 bar crusher. I’ve got a 6m centre cab and get any where from 1.4 up to 2.0 km depending on weather and how I’m driving and this generally Considered as pretty economical for my size boat
  3. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-09-29/bom-declares-la-nina-wet-conditions-likely-for-eastern-australia/12617528 Well hopefully not too much devistation but on the plus side should make for a good prawn season!!!
  4. Unfortunately after all my research I’m struggling to find a true 125 or 135 that will fit in side the Engel box as it’s internals will only accommodate 330L x 180w X 238H. I have found many labelled as 135 but the weight calcs brings them down to around 110 ish.
  5. If it’s the ones I spoke to the guy about it’s an NPP
  6. Yeah sweet. I rang him about the 125 but the only issue is he can’t get one for four weeks and hopefully I’ll be going to Fraser next week so I’ll keep looking. I’ve found a few reasonably priced similar sizes though
  7. It depends how hook shy they are. Often only forty lb they can still bite through this though
  8. It’s actually really common in Australia all around the country to use a treble hook at the tail end of a bait and a j hook through the nose especially when floating or trolling Livies. We call it a stinger. It is most commonly used for the exact purposes you talked of, chasing mackerel it is 100% legal. I always have a few light gauge single strand wire rigs with treble stingers made up when the mackerel are about
  9. Yeah cheers mate the current director of that company has a string of lawsuits against him in regards to warranty claims amongst other things. Not worth risking on the odd chance I get a lemon from the get go. your right about the extra Ah. it’s no point skimping once I’ve already spent heaps on the box. The plan is to put the maximum ah that will physically fit in the box 180w x 330l x 238h. ive been told buy a few solar/battery experts that any thing under 0.3kg per Ah is false advertising. Ie a 135 Ah battery should weigh just over 40kg. And 110 ah about 33 kg so anything that is multiple kg’s less than is probably less than what they claim it to be. Does anyone out there agree or disagree with using the 0.3kg equation as guide to measure Ah of agm batteries. ( obviously casing quality will differ the weight but shouldn’t be say buy a couple of kgs. Is what ive been told)
  10. Thanks mate I appreciate your input.
  11. Cheers Benno And Nog I’ll give him a call and see what he’s got that’s a good price for a 110ah. I looked a bit further the owner of Aussie batteries has had six different companies in a few years and all have gone bust then pop up again under a new name.
  12. How long did you get out of your batteries In General?
  13. Yeah I was this close to buying one as they now do a 140 which I can get for $267. Until I came across a fair amount of rubbish reviews about quality and no help with the warranties. Problem is I don’t know if it is for this particular model or not.
  14. Hi all I’m looking to buy a deep cycle gel agm battery for an up coming trip. It’s to be placed in an Engel series 2 battery box. Purely for running fridge camp lights etc. I’m after one in the 110-140 ah rating I’ve been doing a heap of research and have found a lot of the batteries labelled as 135 or 140 are really actually rated to 110ah. If any one on here has any recommendations on deep cycle agm batteries let me know cheers in advance
  15. Nice work mate, I reckon he’ll give it plenty of use!
  16. Nice little crabbing vessel, build a little deck at the front if it doesn't have one and you be chasing muddies and prawns in the coming months.
  17. Yeah can’t imagine I’d be too impressed by that one either

If I only ever found out who did it. Was a long time ago now tho. Yeah still getting out there man just not as much as I’d like too. Have been going ok when I do manage to get out though
  19. Yeah Hamish is right it’s a bit early in the season unless you just want to target a few for bait then you can get them all year round just not in huge numbers . We need some good rain in the coming months or the season won’t be so great

Dunno Robbie, they stole my PlayStation when they stole my boat
  22. Doing a clean up and found an old ray marine a70d sounder gps combo. The boat it was attached to was stolen years ago so comes with no cables or transducer but was in full working order last time it was used (five years ago). If you know of someone with a similar model you could borrow their power cord before buying a transducer, also no map card. Probably not much use to anyone one but on the odd chance It is someone can have it for free. Also have three ps3 games COD mw3, hitman absolution, gta 4 plus liberty city episode also free pick from Parkinson.
  23. Nice report Hamish, those salmon can be a real pain to crack sometimes but keep at it you’ll nab another one soon. This is a good time of year for them so hopefully a few more will pop up for you
  24. Wow what a cracking snapper Ted, or dom I should say looks like a quality day out on the water well done lads
