  1. Bass are getting harder to find along the edges, they are heading for the deeper water to school up for the winter.I had to work hard to build up a tally and had to explore more unfished areas to find a few. Managed 31 bass and one yella on spinnerbaits and got 5 on bait on the way up the dam, could of caught a lot more on bait but I was getting hungry. Dino
  2. I asked Gary Howard to make me a 7' fly rod for the yak and he said it would cost to much and take up to much of his time. Dino
  3. I call it a 58.5cm others could probably get 60cm out of it.
  4. I was glad to see overcast conditions again this morning, had the raincoat on for the first 10 mins and the last 10mins.Found some good bass amongst the weed along with a funny shaped bass, it had a stunted body and a long tail. Nearly got pulled out of the boat by another big ass bass that went 55cm.Ended up with 33 bass and one yella on TT spinnerbaits and finished up with another 10 bass on shrimp and left them biting as my worms were biting. With over $ 1200 spent on batteries, charger and stand up seat, next will be seat belts as I get to a massive 5 MPH without any effort now. Dino
  5. No downrigger, I tried one years a go along with paravains, but found there was to much mucking about.I have lures that go down 34 feet and if the fish are sitting deeper I use blades, slugs etc When trolling a spinnerbait it is usually in about 8ft of water along the edges, going from one casting spot to another, I am usually standing up holding the fishing rod over the side. Dino
  6. From memory thats only the third one I have got, I thought I had a 50cm bass on.
  7. My front 2 batteries played up so I got 2 new ones, along with a new charger and a standup seat to save my legs, cost all up over $700 and now this morning the back 2 batteries which I recently acquired from my son decided to play up,more money, I said last time, I wont be putting any second hand batteries in my boat and what do I do On the fishing side I had a good morning on the edges and a few trolling. Dino
  8. I have taken a liking to da weed.
  9. No I seen the pink one in a tackle shop and thought with winter comming on and the big females around that pink would turn them on
  10. Had a shower while waiting at the gate, then another around 7 am and a great morning for the rest of the time. Managed 48 bass with one over 50cm and 5 yellas with 2 over 50cm.Most come from along the weed edges on spinnerbaits. Dino
  11. That fish ladder is at Brendale. PRFMA made a visit to the hatchery at Bribie where they have several big tanks full of JPs, some over 60cm models. A JP of the same size as a bass would pull a bass backwards, they are thicker around the shoulders. They loose their spots as they grow bigger also.It has taken years to work out what to feed the fry and get the survival rate up. Dino
  12. I try to keep it short and sweet with a bit of info for others, I am a one finger typer. To each their own lets not try and covert people to be academics.
  13. I purchased 2 of the 1000 reels for jigging bass as I didnt need much line on them. I can say they are doing the job just fine, they were on special for 25 dollars each, it was a no lose situation. Dino
  14. yes use very small hook only one hook allowed in QLD
  15. lake K from the edge on worms for tillies
  16. My mate Wallyfly caught a rod up at baroon dam, it was a baitcaster, when he reeled it in it had a bass on the end with the line wrapped around it, cutting it nearly in half, but was still alive, released to live another day. I found a baitcaster up there also with a 6000 eggbeater reel on it and the lure still attached, I got the lure, Luke got the rod for cleaning the reel and my son got the reel for open water fishing. Just recently I found half a rod up there as well. I might add I have donated a nice baitcaster outfit to the depths up there as well. Also down at Wangdang Illawarra I saw a flash in the water and cast to it while I was flathead fishing one day, result one kids rod and reel with a big bream on the end of it. My best by far was when the water went down to 15% at NPD I hooked a few bundles of lures all in tight balls some balls were worth $200 dollars. Near the dam wall, while casting spinnerbaits, heaps of jackal lure amongst them (i think a lot of them were already mine Dino

  18. Thanks Joe I am aiming for a bigger one next time
  19. If anyone has a pic of a bigger bass on a bragmat feel free to put it up. Dino
  20. Most bass grow according to supply of food in that dam or creek. One of the reasons why we tag as most waterways are different. Some feed from bait schools, some from shrimp from the edges.Only way to get the age of the fish is from the age rings in the bone.
  21. Sad part to the story though the fish did not survive the capture,Charlie was very upset. Dino
  22. Buying a swag today and hope to have a go at the cod before it gets to cold. Thought I would ask an expert on a starting spot.

Awesome!  I'll send you a PM tonight when I get home from school with some details.  You'll have to bring some warm clothes cause it will be getting cold very down there at night.
