  1. Looks like the bass are fattening up, they'll be some big girls around soon.
  2. Was Tackle Rats. Probably killed by the rent.
  3. You're going to be so fit, your'll be winding them in twice as far!!
  4. Today would be magic weather wise on NPD.
  5. Dino, you'll just have to keep away from fishing chat pages!!
  6. He's not fat like NPD basses, he's pretty active chasing the shrimps and the fishes. Most feeding action starts as soon as I turn the aquarium light off. Otherwise he's fairly sociable and cruises around every so often. Goes nuts when a gegko wanders on the aquarium
  7. Murray cod. About 2.5 cm when I got it, it's now close to 16 cm. Diet is live shrimps, fishes and earthworms. Definitely prefers live shrimps luckily plentiful in NPD. He'll be moving to his next home soon (4X2X2 feet tank) and eventually a second hand 5000 litre water tank. Would have preferred a Mary River Cod but none available at the time.
  8. At least you're getting on the water. The closest I get to fishing at present is watching my pet cod.
  9. Percy defending his personal FAD (Food Attracting Device)
  10. Another great looking day to be on the water!!
  11. Nights are getting quite cool so the edge water is not to their liking in the am. Maybe an after lunch session might get some more action after the water has been warmed for a few hours.
  12. Might have to make redclaw traps using the same plastic mesh as for the shrimp traps.
  13. Blowies = lowlife yakers who launch from Forgan Cove and proceed into the PRFMA area (as well as the sailing club area). I'd love to see fisheries do a SIPs permit check at Forgan Cove.
  14. As grazing land, the land flodded when NPD was build was mostly clear of trees so there wasn't much underwater structure to start off with. Research done in the USA has shown that building fish friendly underwater structures greatly improves fishing. The only drawback to the project is the blowies from zone 2.
  15. If you're northside, try Belco Trailers in Brendale.
  16. No, not zone 2. Can't use boats in zone 2.
  17. Contact the hatchery, they may still have organised tours. https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/contact/offices/stations-facilities/bribie-island If you want to read up on the breeding project - http://era.daf.qld.gov.au/id/eprint/5124/1/2012-213-DLD.pdf (only 169 pages).
  18. Maybe you should also draw a black fishnet stocking pattern over the pink.
  19. Looks like you had a great session. Hopefully I'll be out there tomorrow and they're still on the chew.
  20. Yep, now it needs a commercial hatchery to take it on. Bit of a catch 22, hatcheries need demand but if there's no supply there's no demand. Also have to get fisheries approval to stock them in dams. Make great aquarium fish!!
