That was about $250 for a sheet 2m x 1m and I used 2 sheets but have half a sheet left. I think they are about $300 full retail as well as seadek which I looked at but a bit thick for the top deck maybe down the line for the casting deck and floor.

Finally got everything together to start fitting the new electric yesterday and got started this morning but the rain stopped me from getting the motor on today.
Stripped the old ACM deck I put on years ago and ground back the top ready for the new foam decking. Not sure the brand as I got it through a friend at work.
Made a new mounting bracket at work from some scrap 25mm clear acrylic.
Bloody thing moved on the CNC so not happy but it will do after some planing(so loud) and shaping to the deck.
Hopefully get into it early tomorrow and get the decking and bracket on. Wiring should be easy as I already have a inline 50amp fuse.
Pretty sure I'm going to run 2 batteries. The 150ah for the electric and a 120h for the sounders and lights. Gives me security when I'm camping and run out of battery because of using the electric I can still have lights and sounder.

Also for jew the changes of tide is key. Lot easier to fish lures, small lifts hard off the bottom for vibes or plastics. The more vertical the lift the better.

Love your reports mate.
Maybe next time target the tailor for a livie sounds like there were predators there. Can always keep throwing plastics with the livie on a rod in the rod holder. I do this a lot everywhere.

Spent a while thinking about the cons. Couldn’t think of any. Fishing is a strange mix of meditation and nervous anticipation. Before I retired, it was definitely an escape from the daily grind and I really enjoyed fishing solo. Now I like having company and shooting the breeze and taking a lazier approach. When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing or fiddling with the boat or fishing gear. Life would be dull without fishing.
The only Con in my view is the cost. You always want a bigger boat or the latest lure etc. Maintenance, Fuel, tow cars etc it never ends.
But I think the positives outweigh that ten fold.

First would be the relaxing getting out there part. Some special moments on the water that you don't get to experience without fishing. People pay good money to experience what we do on a regular basis.
2nd is the challenge of catching new or bigger fish or fishing new areas.
I loved the challenge of catching fish on the lightest line possible early on and some of the fish I've caught on 4lb or 6lb I probably won't better. But long hours.
I originally started due to serious injuries that stopped me doing my current hobbies.
I needed something to do while recovering without injuries. By the time I healed I was hooked.
Fishing is a lifestyle not just something to do. Love it.

I know it's not a manly thing to do, but I had a quick read of the manual...haha. That's why I suggested it.
No choice in your case (or others with the same scenario).Yep I always read the manuals. I don't have the electric going through the switch board but hooked to the same battery with it's own 50amp inline fuse.
The wiring is always the worst part of installs.

You can definitely use the main motor to help steer when using the electric. Next time try heading straight with the electric and steer with the main motor. It's a slow turn but does work.

With the steering do you have your main motor down? I always try to have it straight so it acts as a keel.

Got a good deal at Road Tech Marine for $3300 but I had to haggle hard.

Nice work. That's a small plastic for the target species.
I like the deadsticking method too. I did the same today with less than favourable results - one large whiptail.
The GT would have been fun on 4lb. Did you have it for dinner ?
Good fun for sure was down to backing twice and had to chase him down in the strong current.
I release everything inshore except the odd flatly. Nice snap or Jew offshore though...

Hi guys,
Fished the Broadwater on the high tide change today. Water still a bit dirty until the clean water pushed in. Didn't affect the fishing.
Got my first squire about 30 secs on my first drift and each drift had some sort of action. Missed a few but ended with 3 squire and a nice GT all on 4lb deadstick 2" grub. Good fun.

Small jack at Bond Uni that ate a herring I hooked.
Best I've heard of is Youngy catching a Cobia on one of DI.

One 30cm left of wire short from finishing today. Always the way and a good reminder today that I hate wiring.
