Part of my keel is missing ! The last 500mm or so of the keel back to the transom is gone, looks to be cut away at stage or maybe missing from factory, does anyone know if this has any effect on the boat at all and why it would be missing?

Mine is the same. It's made that way intentionally I think.

With the number of small redclaw in the shrimp traps they will be plentiful for a while  they will really explode when it warms up.

Went for a land based session with a mate yesterday evening in Redcliffe. Had to take advantage of the weather, wind and tide. Would have taken the tinnie out but with a curfew placed on my mate we had to maximize fishing time. 
Within 10 minutes of arriving I had missed a run and then my mate reeled in a decent 40cm Tailor. We got our hopes up for a solid Tailor session. 
What actually followed was an on/off patchy bite of mainly flathead. The best two going mid fifties. Nice and plump fish but the laziest fighters I have ever come across!  

Bait was a mix of prawns and pilchards. Hope more Tailor arrive in the bay soon. 

Yes, there was only one other person show up for about half an hour. He left after I put on the dueling banjos music from Deliverance and starting doing a little jig whilst giving him the f/o stare.

Got back at 10pm Thursday night. Quite a drive.
No fish, nearly no water.
I'll do up a report anyway with a a few pics and videos.

Thanks for the notice. Sad news. I would frequent that store on my way to the pine or redcliffe. Then grab a coffee and sandwiches next door. 
Hope another tackle shop ends up there. 

I’m happy to support the local places as they tend to have the higher end gear that main stream places like Bcf don’t cater for at all. It’s a very handy location there on the Northside it would be a shame to see it gone for good .

Went past carseldine tackle shop today and she’s all but empty, I thought it was tied in that that mob at Sandgate? Must admit it was pretty run down last time I was in there, used to be a great lil shop to stop in and have a chat.

Having the boat and my self out of action for a while I pulled my finger out and installed  a new water pump and impellor, big thanks to Troy at minnkotarepairs for giving me a prop and a awesome service of my bowmount ! Took the boat for a quick “test” run up to bribie early this morning, well the boat absolutely flies along now gaining an extra 4kph and doing less revs so very happy. Would be silly of me to take the boat and not a rod, pulled up to a nice lil drop off and had spot lock working perfectly being able to work it with minimal effort and bagging afew flathead.

I don’t eat seafood mate, but most of these were crumbed and he old man likes em  plain and simple with just butter in a pan.
4 inch plastic hopped on the edge of the weed and sand bank, very basic stuff really  haha there real thick this time of year so good fish to get kids into catching fish onto  lures.
