Normally shallow fried in panko crumbs , but of late we have been cooking them in coconut cream with Thai green curry paste and putting the fillets in oven

All,
Got the new boat on the water end of October 2023 and what a ride it's been, done plenty of trips to break her in, mainly chasing squid and chasing Tuskies which I loved doing in my teens with my Dad.
1st trip was on the tuskies was 2 weeks before I got my boat, i headed out with a good mate in his boat to see if any of my old hunting grounds still held the elusive blackspot and wouldn't you know it 2nd drop with a rather large sleepy crab wich spells big trouble at this spot in some rather ordinary seas off Moreton Island I was on, under locked drag, with 80lb braid and 120lb leader I was hooked up to a dinosaur of a blackspot Tuskfish that was running hard for the coffee rock ledge, after some very intense spool thumbing and some grunting I'd managed to to turn this fish and have it heading my way until it decided it wanted that rock some more , with a few ugly rod angles and a few more grunts I managed to get him boat side for netting and my 1st blackspot in 20 + yrs was on the floor of the boat and we was in absolute awe of the colours this fish went, ended weighing in at a modest 10.2kg after being bled.
Enough rambling, I'll let everyone enjoy the pics
Cheers Josh <><

I’m trying to imagine the feeling of victory when a fish of that calibre hits the net. In surfing, the best waves are often the ones where you think you have no chance of making them. But when you do….

Cobiaaddict reacted to Lil Peep in 🎣 fishing report: landing a monster - my 42cm bream in the brisbane river 🐟
Hello my fellow anglers,
I had an incredible day on the Brisbane River yesterday while the kids were at school, and I can't wait to share the thrilling story of my latest catch with you. I was out on my trusty boat, anchored at one of my secret spots along the riverbank, just as the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the water.
The conditions were perfect, and I had a hunch that something special was lurking beneath the surface. I cast my line out, letting it drift with the current, and settled into my usual routine of waiting and watching. The breeze gently rustled the leaves on the trees, and the water made soothing sounds as it lapped at the boat's edge. It's moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with fishing all those years ago.
Then, suddenly, I felt a strong, unmistakable pull on my line. It was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. The reel whizzed, and I knew I was in for a fight. With adrenaline pumping through my veins, I let it run then I tightened the drag and started reeling in, and it felt like the bream was determined to test my skills.
After what seemed like an eternity, I finally glimpsed a flash of silver beneath the water. It was a colossal common bream, easily 42cm in length. My heart was racing as I carefully maneuvered the fish closer to the boat. Every twitch of its tail was a testament to its strength and resilience.
With a practiced hand, I scooped up the massive bream into my net, and there it was—a true river giant. The feeling of triumph and respect for this majestic fish was overwhelming.
I measured and admired it for a moment, taking care to handle the fish gently before releasing it back into the river, where it disappeared into the depths. It was a beautiful, heart-pounding encounter with nature's greatness.
This catch, my friends, was one for the record books, a testament to the wonders that the Brisbane River holds. It's experiences like these that keep me coming back to the water, time and time again, in pursuit of the next unforgettable adventure.
Until next time, tight lines and thrilling moments on the Brisbane River!
Tight lines,
Lil Peep 🌊🎣

Cobiaaddict reacted to Lil Peep in hello everyone, i'm new and would like to introduce myself
Cheers, I used to fish to eat but I felt that it was less fulfilling, as once I had caught enough for me and my hubby I felt like I was wasting my time, but I have since moved on from this primal way of thinking about it and enjoy it more.

Cobiaaddict reacted to Lil Peep in hello everyone, i'm new and would like to introduce myself
Hi there! I'm Lil Peep (AKA Piper), and I've been chasing bream in the Brisbane River since I was a teenager in ‘94.
The Brisbane River has always been my second home. It all began with my dad, who passed on his love for fishing. Every weekend, we'd head down to the riverbank, rain or shine. Over the years, I've honed my skills and developed a knack for finding those bream.
Fishing for me isn't just about the catch; it's about the thrill, the peace, and the stories that come with it. There's something magical about watching the sunset over the river, painting the sky with shades of orange and purple as I patiently wait for that telltale tug on my line. I've gathered a treasure trove of stories and experiences along the way, and I'm excited to share them with you. #BrisbaneBreamQueen

Exciting times. Hope you get a decent weather window when it arrives. I got new boat and then new van arrived like 3 weeks later. I thought retirement was supposed to be relaxing, so damn busy lately.
Hoping my new Garmin trolling motor arrives before I need to leave to head up to Cooktown for barra comp at end of the month
