  1. Yes. The Council really needs to do something about them.
  2. I certainly wouldn’t go in a 3.7m. You want a 4 in front followed by a large number. It’s not the good days you need to worry about. It’s the days that start off good and then go not so good while you are out there.
  3. I also propose that we keep the Leaderboard going year round as an incentive to everyone to get out there and try to beat whatever the current record for each species is. However, I think we should delete the north and south from the leaderboard and only use that during the actual comp month each year. It’s already depressing enough.
  4. Well! I just checked the leaderboard and I must admit it’s not looking particularly rosy for Team North. I apologise to my fellow northsiders for my pathetic attempt during the comp. I think I fished 3 times on Fraser for a total of 3 tonnes of weed and 0 fish. I haven’t even made it out in the boat during the whole month of the comp. I have therefore put my house up for sale and will move to the dark side so as to drag the Southside Landlubbers down next year. Yours faithfully Greg the Landlubber
  5. Well, my favourite rod ever is a 10’ 6” Wilson Bream Reaper, and I still have it. It is deadly on the bream, even with me behind it!
  6. Thanks @benno573. Might have a look at the pelican park one sometime.
  7. Hi Mick, Theyre called Oricom I think. Funnily enough there is a review of them in this week's Club 4x4 here: https://www.club4x4.com.au/bluetooth-battery-monitor-review/?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Bluetooth+Battery+Monitor+Review&utm_campaign=New+Campfire+Template+Send+205 I just ordered them online. cheers Greg
  8. Hi all. Does anyone have a good ramp on Brisbane Northside? I usually use the Pinkenba boat ramp near the mouth of the river but it is steep and slippery as the tide falls. I used to use the Nudgee Beach boat ramp which is a good ramp and has pontoons but the entrance to the bay is very shallow on low tide with a bit of rock bar which can damage your prop. Any suggestions welcome.
  9. Hi mate. Welcome to the forum. If you want to target larger fish in the surf you could try sliding. It gets the bait a long way out to where the bigger fish usually are. I know Jones’s Tackle at Chermside can advise you about sliding but I imagine any of the larger tackle shops will be able to advise you as well. As for a bait to use try a large (say 8/0 to 10/0) circle hook baited with a whole side slab from a tailor or mullet folded lengthwise with the skin to the inside. Good luck!
  10. As you can tell, I really haven’t got much to say at this point. But what the hell. 95.5%
  11. Mind you, I just realised I made 90% of the comments so please disregard the above post.
  12. Leave them alone @Old Scaley. They have BIG guns!
  13. I was just thinking it’s strange how these topics get off point. I mean,, what the **** have 90% of the above comments got to do with the Logan River? lol
  14. The fish didn’t have a chance. They didn't even know which way was up.
  15. Nah. Only kidding. They haven’t managed to catch me yet.
  16. Oh sorry! I apologise. I had the wrong facility. When you said four walls I immediately remembered my stays in another type of facility. You get out even less often there. But the padded walls are quite nice to bang your head against I must admit.
  17. One thing I’ve always wondered though. How do they wash the straight jacket without endangering themselves? Very big washing machines and just throw you in too? Do they give you a snorkel?
  18. Well, so you escape occasionally . Semantics. That’s all.
