Tuna are fish reacted to AUS-BNE-FISHO in Wanted Spinning Reel
Hi Ray,
My apologies, I forgot to message you back.
Your mate is a great guy and gave me a Shimano Symetre 4000, a rod, and a Shimano Baitrunner too. Thanks heaps for organising it for me.

Tuna are fish reacted to mzaakir in Boat
Thanks everybody for the advice, really appreciate it. I searched for hours last night trying to find something and i cam across a 4.7m boat for $2500, everything was in brand new condition only problem it needed a new motor. Ive decided to buy it and hopefully when conditions are alright ill go out. I think for now ill go sub 10 knots and maybe when i get more comfortable go up to about 12 but definitly not more than 15. Thanks for all the advice again

Tuna are fish got a reaction from mzaakir in Boat
Something like a 429 rampage, 420 dory, 419 bass tracker or 420 busta would be perfect for what your looking for, running with a 40 - 50hp would get you anywhere in the bay on a good day.

Tuna are fish reacted to Neil Stratford in Arts and Crafts Day
With a two week 1770 trip looming and no end visible to the current SE blow , I thought I’d spend 2 days of arts and crafting.
Project 1 .
Made myself a 120g jig mould out of plaster of Paris and poured a few jigs.Painted them up , sealed them off with some epoxy , and added a few double assist hooks. Hopefully I they’ll go ok as trout lollies.Better than buying them at about $10 a pop and I won’t care if they get snagged or sharked.
Project 2 .
My current gaff looked a bit ordinary and is a bit how’s your father , the old mild steel hook’s badly rusted and only held in place with two stainless hose clamps - Feeling it ‘s obviously on its last legs, I sacrificed an old aluminium tarp pole and fashioned up a piece of stainless rod as a hook. Tempered the hook off using a little blow torch and fixed it in place , added an old piece of green plastic heat shrink that i had in the garage as a grip.
Just need to pour a few sinkers in the coming week . Then hopefully this wind will have blown self out and I can get out for another fish.

Hi All,
Arrived just after Sunrise. Bit cool.
Blackfish were the go.
Quite for a while. Moved around. Caught one & then it started.
Ended up with six altogether. 32TO 35CM.
Top morning.

Nah no boat, I'm lucky enough that I know enough people with boats... so yes, I'm the free loader. However, I always turn up at the ramp with coffees and chicken rolls.

Hi All, I've read a few of the reports on this site and thought I would join. A little about myself, I'm a northsider and I will fish anywhere there is water, fresh or salt. Landbased, kayaking or in a boat, doesn't really matter, As long as I'm fishing. Although I always seem to be to sick to work when it's less than 10 knots.!

Tuna are fish reacted to Thorbjorn Hale in An enjoyable evenings fishing
Not at all, I’m looking at picking up another smaller one for tailor. It’s a fibreglass graphite composite so it feels much nicer than a fibreglass rod would and it’s pretty light. Overall great value rod and is used by tonnes of shore based fisherman

Tuna are fish reacted to kmcrosby78 in A monster suburban JP
Heading up in June Ted getting VERY excited 😁. Decided rather than add things to my Pajero to instead upgrade to a Prado that has all/most necessary things (lift kit, snorkel, dual batteries mainly) already - in a bit of a rush but hopefully will find/have it in next couple of weeks. Assuming you'd need a reasonably light rod and line to flick the lures necessary to catch them? Just going to have to see how much room we have when we pack.

Tuna are fish reacted to pancakes_and_haggis in A monster suburban JP
Hi Guys,
sadly im on call over Easter this year, but i suppose whats even more sad is that fact its blowing 25kn on the reef so no-one else can go fishing and make me jelous hahahaha
So i decided to go for a sneaky little fish in a spot close to home, an old quarry, overgrown and pretty dense vegitation around it so im not sure how many people are fishing it, maybe a few maybe none!!
But last night showed me you really never know what's on your doorstep until you put your boots on and have a little look, this JP absolutely inhaled a zerek Prawn that my mate was fishing and took off like a barra, went 48cms and released so I can catch it when its 50CM and he can do the camera work !!!
TIght lines!

Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Mulloway is definitely a trophy fish for most fishers, so I am sure this will be eagerly read by many. Welcome to the forum! Making a contribution with your second post - impressive.
