Good to hear from you. Quantity and some good quality bass. Haven't seen one over 50 for quite a while.

Well I finaly got to log in again. Been having some good sessions at NPD and Baroon lately, good to see the bigger bass are starting to show up. Managed a nice 52.5cm and a 47.5cm amongst 63 bass on the 11th all on G2 spoons, who would of thought you could catch that many bass on a piece of metal. Any way another good session on the 14th with 57 bass caught trolling and on spoons, mostly good size bass, seems some of the better bass come from trolling. Dino

Fishing wise no, but been putting in heaps of of hours welding up my shed so I can finish it, instead of 2-3 hours work per day and 1-2 days a week and feeling like I need to go to the ED due to heat exhaustion I am putting in 6-8 hours daily. So getting closer to the time that I can relax more.

Have you managed to make the most of the opportunity?

This is meant in jest but with respect, last night I had a humourous situation. A work colleague came past my place to pick up a part. @Kat remarked about the two of us in our high vis and how she never saw it in new Zealand... My colleague instantly remarked "That's cause it makes it to hard to catch the sheep"... He had @Kat in stitches...

Sounds like a good reel, Hamish - https://hookedupmagazine.com.au/reviews/daiwa-free-swimmer-br/

Bloody kiwis... Always bringing their stuff here...

Hey Rebel, don't want to rub it in but up here in Hervey Bay we have had the best weather for ages in the last two weeks. Beautiful warm sunny days with low humidity, flat seas and hardly any wind, you guys down in NSW have been getting all that crappy weather from New Zealand

Hi all, I haven't caught anything recently so am feeling a bit sorry for myself and decided I am going to buy a new setup. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Daiwa Free Swimmer BR reel and whether it is worth the money? I would probably be buying the 8000 size model and pairing it with a 10 foot 10-15KG rod. Cheers Hamish

Well, it's not sheep stations, so I will generously allow it this time, due to you being a long suffering North player.

Was a glamour day out there today....got some big squid for dinner.....southern side of Mud Island in 6 feet of water as usual. Plenty of damn tailor about but decent sized snapps was scarce for me this afternoon.

Years ago I knew spiderwire as a gel spun line... Tried it once on an abu 6500 and had cut in problems. Took it off, put it in the bin and re-spooled with my old faithful platypus pink

Times like these happen. I trust your gear and enthusiasm will be in ship shape condition when the conditions come around for you

Cool, but sunny up here. Westerlies making for clear water in Moreton Bay. Fishing is tough going.
-
I can't believe the weather. Just Rain. Also 4 TO 6 Metre swells for days & more to come. No rock fishing. ChEERS.

Souths V Broncos 22 /12. Bunnies are back. Coach Walters will have something else to moan & groan about

You probably don’t have to say you’re Team North. It’s obvious. A Southsider would have had the fish and mat close to the camera and their hand down near the floor.

Thanks Brian, its been a great trip but like always home is a damn good place when you live in Queensland and have a boat and a comfy bed to look forward to. It looked like the wind was picking back up towards the weekend, but a week out is a guessing game really. Not looking forward to the flights - 5hrs to Vancouver then 15hrs to Sydney and then home. If there is a next time might look at Cathay - they do Hong Kong to Vancouver as a direct flight. I have scored a few different plastics to try - coffee scented creatures and the like and some good buys on Rapala’s which I can lo Thanks mate
-
No it isn’t… great captures there @Alex2505 - hopefully we can break the south side dominance this month!
