  1. Sounds like a successful mission, if that mission was to find the fish, @Wayne-o . Gotta be happy with a metre plus Spaniard in the esky. I think the reef fishes ok all year. Bummer the light gear was inadequate, but more knowledge for next time. Thanks for reporting back. Will you go again before the holiday ends ?
  2. Another top start to the day, Rebel. And quite possibly a good end with fresh snapper for dinner ??
  3. Darren's ( @Allnighter ) snap - https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNZg3pijBjwQGyGZCu5K5t_C9VillVOhVsjALmyOfIHF9KCGXZ-LCN_adCwq4BjJw/photo/AF1QipPyi6--i2oSZfKRJD5VftaZA94wpf8zH9Q70E--?key=Mm1JY0RtVXZ5Z0JCc1MySV9ZTDR4Y0hjQThJaFpR
  4. Good info, @Hweebe. I didn't even know this was happening, but it makes a lot of sense.
  5. Are you in a boat or kayak ? Best bet would be to make your way towards Sunshine Reef, keeping an eye out for birds diving in. Then, if you find that, troll two lures in the area - 1 at 6 metres and 1 at 2 metres. Halco Laser Pros are the go. If you happen upon a bust up throw some Halco Twisties from 10 grams to 30 grams into the fray and wind as fast as you can. If you don't find any with those two methods, go to the reef and float out some pillies - 1 unweighted and 1 with a small sinker - enough to get it into the mid-water. Fish the bottom while you wait. This thread following is for tuna, but similar tactics for macks (unless you are looking for Spanish Macks). -
  6. Yes. A photo of the fish with it on a measuring device. Also, you need to have your little finger shown in the pic. Well done on the PB. That's a nice bream.
  7. Did you get a photo of it on a measurer with your little finger ? That would be the leading whiting in the comp.
  8. Great news. Now to get some fish onboard to blood her properly !
  9. Who wouldn't want to be on Moreton ?? https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNZg3pijBjwQGyGZCu5K5t_C9VillVOhVsjALmyOfIHF9KCGXZ-LCN_adCwq4BjJw/photo/AF1QipOGQcyDs1PivsYWSpL9AlEYaJ92a8UvA0t_SlYB?key=Mm1JY0RtVXZ5Z0JCc1MySV9ZTDR4Y0hjQThJaFpR https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNZg3pijBjwQGyGZCu5K5t_C9VillVOhVsjALmyOfIHF9KCGXZ-LCN_adCwq4BjJw/photo/AF1QipNhkyZQlg9dK15D4ufQaPoRPJ2yXsJOk7jvPcDp?key=Mm1JY0RtVXZ5Z0JCc1MySV9ZTDR4Y0hjQThJaFpR
  10. Pic didn't work, @Peter K. Leatherjacket are not in the comp, but your 32 bream will make 2nd place. Did you remember to include your little finger in the pic ? You can probably take 3rd place too, with the next largest bream. What size was it ? We have until the 31st of January to sort a pic.
  11. Yep. Easy as. Thanks very much for setting that up.
  12. 36.5cm bream from @benno573 https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNZg3pijBjwQGyGZCu5K5t_C9VillVOhVsjALmyOfIHF9KCGXZ-LCN_adCwq4BjJw/photo/AF1QipPgtRHt2U1O0mWQxlmJBhdck4JkQxgc0eGc4PEW?key=Mm1JY0RtVXZ5Z0JCc1MySV9ZTDR4Y0hjQThJaFpR

  18. Seems like lithium is the go. @Another Wazza replaced his AGM with one and the lack of drain is phenomenal.
  19. Excellent read/story. I would love to replicate your yak sessions in the boat one day. Horse grassy had me envious for sure. I had a great time as usual hanging with you and the family. Pretty happy with my biggest flattie, too. What about the size of that dugong on the SW of the island the day of the 300 series recovery ?!
  20. The metal where you tie to could be bent, causing it to swim out to one side. Check that and try to make it straight, if it is bent.
  21. Good luck. Surely there's a flattie or two waiting at Hayes Inlet for you.
  22. We are currently running an annual comp. You're welcome to join in for the South Team. https://www.australianfishing.com.au/forum/topic/55045-suburbs-of-origin-2024-competition-1-january-2024-to-31january-2024/
  23. Welcome to the AFO forum, @Peter K. Plenty of friendly members here to interact with. What fish do you usually target with your lures ?
