I bought an old fishing book at the op shop that reckons Flopy's are the go for Murray Cod in the lower Goulburn.
I'd never heard of them and now I've heard about them twice this week.

Nice one mate. There are some good fish there. It's so good that you are catching in our backyard. Keep up the good work and post some pics in here too?

Wecker Rd hey - sounds like I should be taking a fishing rod to work ........... 🤔. I only hopped over the fence for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at how 'rainforesty' it is.

Reading the news today and came across this ABC article with our own @Daryl McPhee providing the insight.
La Niña rains are feeding a baby bull shark boom along east coast, says scientist (msn.com)
Get out there sharkers and stop them stealing our catches in the Bay. haha

They should be on most sandy surf beaches, I'd think, but maybe they are rarer on some beaches due to the effect of population.
I knows there's some at Southport in plastic bags if the beaches won't supply you. haha

@Jake Orthman, That's good to hear. I used to fish it from Wecker Road to Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road 40+ years ago and managed to get some eel tail catties and, on tiny hooks, some rainbows that went straight to the fish tank. Fished with garden worms. Never considered bass would be in there and they probably weren't until the stocking programs gave them a kick along.

Bit windy and a few showers today at the western arm. Got plenty of exercise putting on wet weather gear and removing it when the sun came out.. We still managed 65 bass and one tandan and a few barred grunter for the eagle . A lot of the bass were between 30and 38cm. Mark caught a tagged one but I do not have the details yet.
Cheers Ray

Found out another one today -
It's a "Bellbrook by W Southam. Circa 1950's - 70's"
Some history here - https://www.lurehuboz.com/wm-southam.php

Hope you got a few @Kat. I find beachworming as frustrating as solving a rubix cube. I reckon my strike rate is about 1 in 20, despite lots of tuition from experts over the years. I have found the quickest and most productive way to get them is to take a mate who can actually catch the slippery little suckers.

Pilchards are the best bait for them.
Silver or gold lures if you are casting/spinning for them.
