  1. that true. i might add how i prepare them for the table, its gruesom but it works. Alot of people soak in milk which seems to produce good reslts. ive never tried that so i wont comment on that. if you plan to eat one, this is how i do so... As soon as you catch a shark you wish to eat, cut off its tail and leave alive to bleed out in a bucket for a few minutes, then put on ice. the key is to bleed it fast.
  2. so so close! just need the exact name..
  3. all wrong so far, @Drop Bear is kind of on the money. Clue 2 : pluck and strum
  4. well ive never played this game so if i double up with something already played than forgive me Clue 1 : I grow up to 2.7m and im a rare catch
  5. Haha you’re a cracker. Ive got dynema now but it’s old and could do with replacing. The winch itself is dodgy as, only one gear works lol
  6. 5m tinny. Also strapped down which I forgot about. Even when at the boat ramp it takes a good shove to push off, so I’d imagine it’s safe. Might just put another strap on anyway
  7. Hey all im waning to replace the winch on my trailer and im just looking at options in terms of rope or trap or cable. mine was rusted out and wouldnt spool off easily from when i bought it so time to replace. Just wanted to hear the brains trust opinions and experience with any of them. And no it wont be a electric winch, just the hand cranked one that i use a cordless drill on. on another note, im assuming its safe to replace with the boat on the trailer as long as the safety chain is on? i cant see my boat sliding away if i loosen it up to replace.
  8. No worries at all mate. A permanent reminder of the win!
  9. https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/adventure-kings-vacuum-sealer-adventure-kings-vacuum-sealer-rolls-3-pack.html $71 delivered with some vacuum bag rolls. cant beat it
  10. Yeah mate i seal my shark baits. Bought a $70 from 4wd supa center which works a treat.
  11. Man that’s a solid GT, nice one. Good feed of whiting too
  12. @ellicat 6lb main and leader, was lucky to pull the cod away from the pontoon
  13. Hey all! last minute trip to Newport over the weekend with my brother which wasn’t a bad session. I threw around Ecogear bream prawns in the 40mm salt n pepper colour. Although used a cranka crab which im now a fan of! I landed my pb cod from the kayak which was good fun. Landed a few solid bream too. The cod was caught at the back of a pontoon close to shore in the shadows (pic below where you can see where the cranka crab landed) The biggest bream was caught on the cranka crab on what was a really fast retrieve. I cast parallel to a pontoon but it was a rubbish cast so I just decided to retrieve in really fast and cast again, after a few winds and bang! This big bream hammered the lure, was pretty cool! 15. nice one man. Hows the dolphin fish go for storage? ive heard some people only eat it fresh and struggle to store it
  16. I dropped it off at Auspost on the 30/10, delivered on the 18...pathetic
  17. Wow that’s slow! I could have walked it over from the north side faster than aus post! Sorry it took so long mate
  18. Very cool catch. Good to see it was taken care of too. Hook was out fast, few pics then they swam it out twice
  19. Hey team! I went shark fishing last night in the passage (caught nothing), but there was a group of lads 200m down the beach from me who hooked into this monster while targeting sharks too. It took half a freshwater eel bait. I’ve only ever seen a few caught in SEQ land based. I’ve also heard rumours of giant cod and grouper living under the bridge, so there must be some truth to it! She was released and swam away strong. Catch of a lifetime for that Bloke!
  20. Jigging braid is multi colour (changes colour every 10m) so you know how far down your jig is
