  1. that sounds like alot of fun. good luck to you man! depending on the location of the tank, you could always cut a hatch into the floor which could be above the fuel tank gauge
  2. that is some serious fuel for a boat that size. what kind of trips are you planning to use it for?
  3. thats great news. snags will be worth it! roughly how many/ whats the size of the intended reef to be placed there?
  4. check out this youtube channel. loads of maps and info on the area
  5. bumpdy bump bump the blue and white yak is still available...just $50 folks!
  6. Yeah that should be fine. Wife might go into labour by then lol but let’s just play it by ear. Just PM me later in the week
  7. Hey all, time to get rid of two kayaks I don’t use anymore. One is in rough condition (hence the price tags) and the other I is much better condition. Prices are firm and already cheap as, doing a special for AFO members lol first in best dressed. Located north lakes the Mantra Noa needs a few bits of TLC (handles) but apart from that it is a great beginner kayak. Caught plenty of fish from it. Comes with a seat and 2 piece paddle and paddle leash . Seat is basically brand new, don’t think it has actually been used. $100 firm second kayak is a BCF Glide reflection. It is missing the bung (pictured) and has damage from where mY old dog chewed on it. I used to just cover the damage in duct tape, would never be an issue for a few hours on the water. Also missing a rod holder. Apart from that it was a great kayak. Perfect for someone who might want it to paddle out shark baits or just a cheap weekend toy. Also comes with seat and paddle. $50 firm
  8. catfish spot X! do you ever run a paternoster rig to try and get away form the catty vermin?
  9. Hey all, I've got a 7 pin flat lightboard i don't need anymore. a few years old now but works fine. $20. pick up north lakes
  10. annnnd just like that we have our first sin bin for the SOO. 10 in the bin Hamish, no arguing just go
  11. nice one Robbie! mate of mine fishes the passage like that for cuttlefish and squid. deeper water, just off the bottom and slow drift in his boat. he cleans up every often doing it like that
  12. @GregN70 ive only ever heard of that legendary place as local fishing myth
  13. schulz is the river system downstream from the nudgee beach boat ramp. great spot for sharks in summer. also holds good bream, flathead and the occasional jew fish
  14. yeah Tailor is always a good winter species. good youre having this on this side of the snapper closure. ill be running the S.O.O comp on the other side of winter this time around
  15. What a ripper! That’s awesome, well done lads. I’ll backdate for the Suburbs of Origin hahaha
  16. Hey everyone, time for my boat to move on so we can upgrade my car. Ad is up on gumtree, so if you know anyone who might be interested please flick it to them. Sad to see it go but, growing family comes first! https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/north-lakes/motorboats-powerboats/2002-quintrex-coast-runner-500/1272792422
  17. What line class was it? My guess is a half decent sting ray. They don’t have teeth (to my knowledge) but can easily bust you off
  18. Could take the “River” portion out all together and have a winter classic and summer classic. Reefies in winter, Pelagics and sharks in summer. Just sayin..
  19. i couldn't agree more with you Hamish, hence why i use this forum more than social media groups.
  20. i think back in the day there was a junior and senior section? @ellicat might recall. there was a shark category too.
  21. the old Brisbane River Classic and Moreton Bay Classic were fantastic comps. Pretty sure the BRC used to even get a write up in local papers and fishing magazines which was cool. i just don't know if the numbers are there anymore for them. I would love to have them back and for this club to really start to grow in active numbers, but i feel as if the world of social media has people straying away from online forums like this now. anyway that's a bit off topic id be happy to help get this going again and happy to potentially participate too (bub number 2 on the way, so who knows what spare time ill have!). if the numbers are there, and we could get a report written for a local fishing mag then you might be able to attract some sponsors for some good prizes. Time for AFO to grow back to its former BFO glory! just my 2 cents
  22. I've heard that about big gear too. I've got a mate who has lost a lot of big kingies live baiting with tld25 and 80lb line.
  23. ive seen blokes live baiting for them around tangalooma and the artificial reefs (curtain) over there.
