How big is your chilly bin to fit all those fish.
I don't go with just a drinks Esky for a night or 2 and more than 100 km from the ramp. We had 60kg of ice to pack them in to.

Fantastic haul Mark, well done. Would have been nice to be fishing in nice clear water after the brown water we have down here at present.
Crystal clear water watching the colours of these beautiful fish appear was awesome.

Last week we hit a weather window at the Bunker group and found the Coral Trout on fire. They were good size and plenty of big Red Throat Emperor turned on too. Just 1 legal Red Emperor made the box along with Maori Cod, Moses Perch and Tuskies. The weather was exceptional one of the best trips ever for me.

Blew the cob webs out of my little tinnie the other day and cruised out from the Southport seaway to chase a Marlin. Perfect weather for it and I was soon jigging up a tank full of live slimie mackerel.
Drifting over the same bait schools dropping a couple of live baits was the method we used. At around 8am we hooked up to a good black Marlin with the fish jumping clean out of the water.
I drove the boat while my mate Adam filmed and Jasen fought the fish. Each time the fish went deep I motored off to plane him up. Then each time the fish came to the surface I'd drive towards it to get back line on the reel.
The fish jumped 4 different times getting some exciting wahooos from us each jump.
It was about the 20 minute mark we saw the leader line but it still had one more jump before we could grab the leader.
Adam leadered the line and Jasen grabbed the bill of the Marlin while Adam dehooked the fish. We swum it beside the boat with the engine ticking along at idle to get some water through his gills.
We measured the fish and estimated it around 60kg then it swum off strong. Another Marlin hit on a livie without hooking up then a snip from a wahoo followed before we called stumps for the day.

Would consider it Mark. Would prefer a bit of time for our first trip just to be able to get everything set up right. Then it's just a matter of timing and who is available. I'll try and pop around to your place to catch up sometime and pick your brain on what we'd need to get organised .
Yeah no worries I have a list I use to help prep these trips.

My brother's and I are keen to take Dad's boat up there and get amongst them. Hopefully one of the school holidays next year. My brother in Gracemere (near Rocky) picked up his brand new 5.5m (from memory) centre console last holidays so that would give us two boats up there . He has been slaying the spanish mackerel since he took the new boat home, bagging out quickly by trolling.
Would you do a weekend up there Kelvin we just do quick trips if the weather is good

where were you camped did not think there would be many fish there as it is a while since dam spilled.
The campground is called the Gorge and I have found plenty of bass each time we go out there I think it gets stocked.

Camped out on Reynolds creek over the weekend with a group of friends, we circled our wagons around a central firepit.
We took a few kayaks and caught about 40 bass and a couple of yellowbelly within our group. The best bass went 35cm and the best Yella went 50cm.
Cooked up a mad feed on Saturday night in the camp ovens and Weber's and chilled around the fire each night.
The bush setting at the campground is beautiful with some mountains as a backdrop. Definitely one of my favourite little campsites close to home great for a weekender.
