Hi all, Has anyone else noticed that the main Moreton Bay forecast has gone crazy? I checked it last night and it was showing less than 0.5m seas for all days even though the winds were as high as 25 knots. Thinking it would be fixed this morning I checked again but still wrong. That is downright dangerous for an novice boaties out there.

Not quite sure what he means by being easy to bump accidentally. That would infer a very loose throttle. And it’s not either on or off. It’s the same movement range as any other throttle. It’s just that each increment of the throttle is more noticeable when you have more power.

I agree with @_Sloth_ about the engine. Wait for the V8. It’s worth it. So smooth and effortless. And great fuel economy. As for the DTS, I’d probably go for it. The only thing you need to watch is between the instant response of the digital throttle and the massive instant power from the engine you can sometimes almost give yourself whiplash if you push the throttle too far forward quickly. I like the Digital steering too. You can set a course and it will hold it without you even touching the steering wheel.

New Mercury motors come with a solid alloy? support that works well. One might fit yours. Could be worth a look.

Replace tow vehicle or not - opinions please

Well I’ll go the other way from everyone else. Personally, I have found that when things start going wrong with a vehicle everything starts going wrong soon after. I would try to sell your current car and then with cash in hand go to the auctions and look for a good ex government vehicle or similar. And with the used car market being so hot you should get more for your current car as well. -

Thanks mate. I have done all that but the App just shows an ad and nothing else and the website just throws me to the App again. Can’t think of anything else to try. I may have to miss out this year. That means @DropBear and @Old Scaley will almost certainly end up as the wooden spooners now!

I’ve had Ray before. If you cut the flaps into circles it’s hard to distinguish from scallops without the roe. In fact, my trawler skipper many years ago said that most fish shops used skate in place of scallops. Regardless, I’ve been eyeing off a recipe from my Rick Stein ‘Fish and Shellfish’ book for skate for ages. I’ve attached it here. I hope I’m not breaking copyright. At least I am attributing it to him. I also highly recommend buying a copy of the book. Every recipe I’ve tried so far has been superb! Document_2022-02-25_154858.pdf
