Wow, that's a fair trek in your tinny, solo. Conditions looked good, though.
How much juice did you go through
Shoulda said, dad came with me last minute, don't think i'll do it solo for a while. Just my single 25L tank was needed. should also add, I'm fully licensed and have all of the safety gear needed and more

Hi all, been a while.
me and a mate decided to head out fishing on Sunday and try and get some prawns. He called out last second and I already had the boat ready, so headed into the bay on my tinny. Saw some bluefin jumping right next to the boat but couldn’t get any, hooked up on tuna 3 times but lost them each time. Made it to Moreton and got to test the limits of my tinny -

yeah i was looking at the slammer 10000 or 10500 i think it was
I was thinking of getting one for land based shark fishing, so if you do get one let me know how it goes.

Get a penn slammer, underrated reel IMO, fully sealed, 9 bb, braid ready not need for backing (tho i always put at least a few wraps on), with a high recovery rate in most models, models 6500 and above you'll get more than 300m of 50 and insane drag, its tough as nails. If you do end up looking at penn the best reel is the slammer not the ssm or the Authority

Something like this would be good for it.

Yes, alvey is the go to. The only issue is they're out of stock everywhere at the moment
They haven't been giving stores any stock for a while, but anaconda should still have some combos or individual reels in stock:
It does say out of stock, but i can say for certain that anaconda Morayfield has them at the moment
another reel that i would recommend would be a van staal they are almost invincible, can be dropped in sand, salt water and anything you throw at them.

Can finally answer this question, as i am now working for anaconda. The youngest they hire is 14 years but you are unlikely to be hired until you are 16ish or if you know someone who can put in a good word for you. But just a heads up, not everyone will take you seriously because of your young age but most people just know what their looking for and are nice as.

Hey I need some help choosing a rod. As part of my work there are times when I'm at anchor in the bays around the Townsville area. I've been out twice now and there's been baitfish bust ups happening around the boat but I don't have a rod.
I'm after a rod that I can use to throw some lures at to try and catch whatever is hunting the baitfish. I have zero experience with any saltwater fishing as I have only ever fished the freshwater down in country VIC.
I would also like to use this same rod to start doing some land based lure fishing around Townsville.
I believe the following rods are all pretty similar on paper but I know there's going to be a massive difference when it comes to real life use. Is there a standout or DO NOT touch rod out of them or am I completely off target with the selections? I'm happy to spend up to $250 and will get a reel to match it afterwards.

Have a look on market place, there are a lot of brand new spooled Stella's for a good price, especially after chrismas when people sell them if they got gifted them.

Nice flattie. Some fat fillets. Delicious. How many crabs did you get ? Benno was saying he cleaned up in the Passage the other week.
Did you see many tuna ?
3 crabs on Saturday didn’t try on Sunday but the pots were only in for about 2 - 3 hours while we fished. We saw what we thing was a singular tuna on the way out but nothing else.

Hi all,
went out to bribe on Saturday with a mate and got some blue swimmers and a big flathead that I hooked 4 times before landing, and we didn’t have a net so we used his shirt lol. Then Sunday went back after trying to get some tuna off Morton but it just wasn’t the day, hooked a 40cm flounder on a weedless paddle tail and another good flathead around 45cm.
