hey guys its me myles i have a neighbour that feeds the bream floating bread ive tried and caught sme myself but now they get it off my hooks wondering if i should switch to floating lures like cranks and poppers.

Also by the way what type of lure is most effective for bream living in rocky fields and in between pontoons

    Try small prawn imitations.

Reminds me of when, years ago, I left some lures to dry on the table on our back deck, and my wife called out to me the next morning in horror because our golden retriever had a treble hook stuck in his bottom lip (just the treble - he'd managed to straighten the split ring trying to get it out of his lip ....... 😬. If he could speak he would have argued that the punishment didn't fit the crime because we decided, seeing as though we had to pay an anaesthetist, that  we may as well have him de-sexed at the same time ........

He's forgiven me and has managed to live to the grand old age of 11 and counting so all's well that ends well ........ 😁.

Thanks @ellicat for the potential recruit 🙂 @Tuna are fish

Flyfishing is just another way to spend hard earned cash and not catch fish 🙂

    I love it to bits.

Go to a club meeting first and see what type of idiot fly fishes and get some help in casting and advice on gear if you are interested. PM for details of clubs around the area.  BFFC meet at Everton PArk Scouts and the SEQFF meet at Mermaid Waters Bowls CLub.

There is also the Malard and Claret but very Trouty focussed

    Cheers

Thanks for the info Norm i will have a look at fly clubs near me.  i'm set on gear as dad has got two rod and reel combos that he said i can use a, silstar and a diawa.  they are both around 20-30 years old but are in good shape.  i had a good go and i was able to cast around 10 metres, (idk if this is good or not) i'm mainly going to use it in my local lake to catch talapia, freshwater mullet and maybe carp.

  4. Hi all, i pulled one of dad's old fly rods out of the shed after he said i should try to get tilapia on it.  I have never fly fished before but have a general idea from watching YouTube.  Does anyone here fly fish and if so what helped you start?

    Cheers

Most of it frozen some eaten fresh and this lot will last about 2 months before all of it is gone. Nothing like pulling Trout and Lipper out of the freezer to feed the family a couple times of week. We love fish at home and a bit goes to my extended family as well you got to look after mum and dad.

Good to know it is not going to waste.
