Bugger about the sharks. Between sharks and Crocs it might soon pay to check the throne really well before you sit down... Glad you managed to get some tucker past it all .

Welcome. Which vibrant city do you reside in? -
@Kat and myself have had some success using live hardie heads. No massive snapper landed (up to about 50cm), but there were also some comprehensive statements from fish that had no interest in coming aboard. I think on those particular trips I was just cutting up bits of squid and dead hardie heads for a bit of burley.

Nice feed there

Whatever is abundant in the area??? Macerated pilchards and squid worked for me at times. Hired a houseboat in Cardwell year's ago before yasi. It had a macerating toilet... Soooo.... Stuff it, I'll give it a try... Fingermark and grunter

Never seen that before.

Awesome boat and what a cracker tuskie! Well done

They have been gone for a couple of weeks or so for me. I'm grateful however for other small mercies within a genuine small community outside of the other social amoebae's.

I can this far see the ones that yourself and I have included. Should I stop questioning further

For the most of us yes. But there is more to the reality of what is actually going on than the will, wishes and convenience of human beings. I seem to recall a recent request for @Neil Stratford to be banned from the competition

That's more what I was getting at. @Andrew P @Daryl McPhee your input would be great . To the whole community, check back and post a pic of your neap tide success
-
Yes I understand about just getting out when you can. When people can is limited by their own circumstances. Guess I am just wondering how much people consider in their approach to the time available?

I'm interested to see what others think about neap tides and fish behavior. In my experience activity windows are generally shorter and less pronounced. Obviously there are many other variables at play here, (location, weather, time of year etc). Less current (in estuaries) generally decreases water turbidity due to suspended solids and increases sedimentation. It does not however always mean greater water clarity. I am interested to know how others approach fishing around neap tides in estuaries and bays?

Well I think it that if she has picked up another shift in the morning also, (as was on the cards when she left for work today), it would definitely be an unwise move. While I love good banter and possibly the odd prank, even I think it would be an insane thing to do. I'm sure the humour of soaking up the reaction would soon turn to a sodden sorriness

Now I want to go fishing. Shame @Kat has picked up an extra shift today. It's pretty neap tides too and that has not been great in the past for me. I have to admit that I am hopeful of a flurry of reports (from others) with pics tonight however .
