I hope it goes well for you. Incidentally, I will be heading off early to work early tomorrow.

A very early run?

The weather hasn't been great so I don't suppose you have tested it yet Brian?

For anyone that hasn't read that story, take the time. It's worth it

Glad you got the leg sorted out

Motor leg or towbar leg???

I had a trip to Cairns go a bit pear shaped a few years ago. Mate and myself both battling illness, boat issues and bad weather. We managed a few fish but the trip definitely didn't go to plan. Unpacking the freezer when I got home, I found some empty (but sealed) vacuum pouches labeled "Brett's Barra".... We still laugh about it now.

That's a great read and and a great watch Thanks for sharing that. I love how fishing prevails ultimately . -

Forgot to say @flattyfan4573 that I am jealous that you managed to manipulate that one in... Well done.

Sounds like a product flaw that inadvertently caused product consumption has been responsibly noticed and acted upon. The flaw has been addressed by requiring greater product consumption...???

Don't really fish with lures anymore, but years ago when I did, I always had length and depth options with the orange and gold RMG scorpion. Fresh and saltwater.

Good job. I have never chased them. I got one as a surprise in a cast net once... My only experience with them.

Can not help as I have no experience with the dude (fortunately... By the sounds of things)... Would be nice to see rational goodness prevail over poo poo...

@kmcrosby78 and @GregOug. Fish just pulled off ice (and they were very well iced). I'm calling "shrinkage" for southsiders at 5mm or even less. It's a very modest haul given how long we spent in the boat. A lot of vermin and under species we're encountered. Tides were not great but they weren't bad. I wonder if a diesel and oil spill may have contributed to the quiet trip? There's a good feed or two and I can't smell diesel on them

I'm no expert but I have landed quite a few jew over 1.2m (years ago and not around seq). Dirty old abu 6500 paired with a cheap and short rod (maybe 5'8"?). I agree with @mangajack on the snelled hooks and ball sinker right to it, and just enough weight to get to the bottom but not anchor the live bait. I like to be able to cover ground too.
