Eldest son had just had his tender repaired and as we were going to visit him, he asked if we could call in to horizon shores on the way and help put the tender back on his boat.Well wife and I was on the back of his boat when he arrived back with the tender, the dog got a bit excited and run to meet him, missed the end of the walkway and fell in the water. I bolted down the steps tripped over the rope(as seen behind the dog in photo ) done a complete micky flip and ended in the water.
While I was trying to get the dog out of the water, I cut my legs and hand on the barnicles, my eldest son tried to pull me back out of the water but failed, so middle son came to the rescue, one on each arm. All this time all I could think about was bull sharks.
On a lighter side, before this happened there was bream around the boat that looked well over 40cm.
Off to the doctor monday so they can inflict some pain on me and dress the wounds.

    Hi all

    G'day Joseph
    Any luck on prior missions?
If you're talking about Murrarie Recreation Hub; you'll get prawns, herring, mullet, winter whiting, etc. It's got lots of lights attracting lots of fish.
If you mean the Colmslie one, cast off the boat ramp. Lots and lots of prawns on a high tide there.
    Cheers Hamish

Don't know if anyone here was aware, but a guy caught an approx 70Kg GT off the top of Morton Island about a week or two ago, 1.7m long, he was fishing in his 15ft Polycraft. It was in the local newspaper so thought I would share. This is one fish he will never forget!

Five surgeons are discussing who were the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon says, 'I like to see Accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.'

The second responds, 'Yeah, but you should try Electricians! Everything inside them is colour-coded.'

The third surgeon says, 'No, I really think Librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order.'

The fourth surgeon chimes in, 'You know I like Construction Workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would.'

But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed, 'You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine, and only two moving parts - the mouth and the arse - and they're interchangeable'

I had this info saved on my pc on the 5 main boat ramps at Caloundra.

    1. Bell's Creek - (Quite shallow on low tide,Multi lane, not too bad in windy conditions, sandy beach either side of ramp great yabby banks adjacent.
    2. Military Jetty - Two single ramps very open to the elements, ramps had work done on them a while of ago , caution with the sand bags along each side of ramp as they are getting barnacles so watch the duco on the boat.
3.Powerboat Club - This would be the most popular ramp for the area, It has 4 lanes, good parking, sandy beach either side, It's not to bad in most conditions however a bad South Easterly can cause havoc.
    4. Sailing Club - This ramp is the closest to the Bar for outside trips good deep water, single lane, not a great deal of parking, once again this ramp is affected by SE wind, and the current gets quite strong in this area, it is down on the corner close to the Coast Guard at Caloundra.
    5. Memorial Ramp - This ramp is quite unforgiving you have rocks either side, it is only a single lane, the SE wind makes this a dangerous ramp , however this ramp is great for anyone who doesn't like crossing bars because it's located out on the point east of King's Beach, very limited parking. ( You normally only see aluminum boats using this one)
