I need the fuel tank size for big reef trips. I won't have the tank under the casting deck, it will be just foreward of the centre of the boat.

that sounds like alot of fun. good luck to you man!

depending on the location of the tank, you could always cut a hatch into the floor which could be above the fuel tank gauge

Hi All. I'm looking at getting an underfloor fuel tank put into a Quintrex 420 Renegade tiller steer. The motor is a 40hp Yamaha two-stroke and I'm looking at around a 100l tank with some normal outboard tanks as extra. What would be the process of installing a tank. I know where I can get the tank and have it welded in, but I don't understand the process of plumbing it though. Would I need a fuel pump to pump the fuel to the motor? The fuel lines would be around 3m. How would I check the fuel level without gauges and what else do I need to know? Thanks

that is some serious fuel for a boat that size. what kind of trips are you planning to use it for?

Will buy it then mate of that’s OK. Any day/time suit you better next weekend? I have my boys rugby first up Sat and Sun morning. Maybe lunch-ish Saturday?

Yeah that should be fine. Wife might go into labour by then lol but let’s just play it by ear. Just PM me later in the week

  4. Hey all, time to get rid of two kayaks I don’t use anymore. One is in rough condition (hence the price tags) and the other I is much better condition. Prices are firm and already cheap as, doing a special for AFO members lol first in best dressed. Located north lakes

the Mantra Noa needs a few bits of TLC (handles) but apart from that it is a great beginner kayak. Caught plenty of fish from it. Comes with a seat and 2 piece paddle and paddle leash . Seat is basically brand new, don’t think it has actually been used. $100 firm967A2B40-F1F9-4229-B525-5B5710CDA5A2.thumb.jpeg.a75811da7464d9e7834320490031bd77.jpeg914896D1-EB34-4FA0-BE59-72119F01D880.thumb.jpeg.423fa1bd25a6e0816083b995695f1de3.jpeg5BFD5958-D27E-46E0-93E1-FDD0B61422EC.thumb.jpeg.08aa6712bb789918e1767b35282bc85a.jpeg

second kayak is a BCF Glide reflection. It is missing the bung (pictured) and has damage from where mY old dog chewed on it. I used to just cover the damage in duct tape, would never be an issue for a few hours on the water. Also missing a rod holder. Apart from that it was a great kayak. Perfect for someone who might want it to paddle out shark baits or just a cheap weekend toy. Also comes with seat and paddle. $50 firm

  5. the old Brisbane River Classic and Moreton Bay Classic were fantastic comps. Pretty sure the BRC used to even get a write up in local papers and fishing magazines which was cool. i just don't know if the numbers are there anymore for them. I would love to have them back and for this club to really start to grow in active numbers, but i feel as if the world of social media has people straying away from online forums like this now.  anyway that's a bit off topic

id be happy to help get this going again and happy to potentially participate too (bub number 2 on the way, so who knows what spare time ill have!). if the numbers are there, and we could get a report written for a local fishing mag then you might be able to attract some sponsors for some good prizes. Time for AFO to grow back to its former BFO glory! just my 2 cents

Curtain Artificial @ Moreton Island has some good sized resident YTK fish,  You will need minimum 50lb gear if you want to be successful, Some guys fish 60-80lb and still struggle to land fish.

Offshore there are always plenty at Hutchinson Shoals,

I've heard that about big gear too. I've got a mate who has lost a lot of big kingies live baiting with tld25 and 80lb line.
