  1. Hi there @Rooster69, I haven’t used the Thermolite composite boards before, but they do look the goods. Are you able to get them at a wholesale or trade price? as the cost per sheet when compared to form ply of the same thickness is 4 or 5 times more expensive, that’s the only real downside I can see. As for carpeting the Thermolite, it’s personal preference really, you could carpet, or paint (polyurethane), or just leave as is, the finish on the boards might be a bit slippery when wet though?
  2. Bretto, your spot on!, I’d rather be floating around out there not catching anything then working, any day!, haha Thank you again Brian for taking me out, it was another great day on the water, joking around and carrying on, I’m already looking forward to returning the favour over the Xmas break
  3. Don’t forget that 37 Squire I released this morning, but being a Southsider I knew that Squire wouldn’t make the grade, not with the caliber of fisherman we have, now if a Northsider had caught that Squire.....the champagne would’ve been flowing well into the early hours of the morning, as they rarely see such big fish.....Hahaha
  4. Yes Greg, however, the south siders you speak of were only purchasing fish for consumption, not for the purpose of trying to edge their way on to the leader board
  5. Yes Greg, unlike previous competitions where you have purchased whole fish from the seafood shop, for the purpose of claiming them as your “own capture”, just be warned, Brian was a bean counter, and if team south gets so much as a whiff of that nonsense, there will be a full audit of your accounts...... Hahahaha!
  6. It would probably be less painful for the north siders if it wasn’t a long drawn out affair, a bit like ripping a bandaid off really
  7. I’ve seen a few squid lurking around the back of the boat at night, you could throw a jig at them if you want, but for the purpose of bait gathering, the squid & pilly’s provided will catch everything you need, plenty of iodine Bream & other species available to use as flesh baits if you desire

    A Big MILF

Did you by any chance happen to ruin the Tuskie during the cooking process?
  9. I stumbled onto this last week, it’s pretty interesting, good on George for making it happen, by the looks of it, the boat is a beast, looking forward to seeing the end product
  10. I see what’s going on now, @GregN70 is trying to throw us off the scent by saying there’s a lack of fish around Yeppoon, wink wink, Hoping he can keep us southerners at bay, rather than heading up that way and giving them a good old fashioned seeing to, Hahahaha
  11. But if your heart is set on a Stella, go for it!, you won’t be disappointed.
  12. Hey Bob, have you considered the Daiwa Certate?, they seem to be a very capable nice reel, saving you quite a few $$$ compared to the Stella
  13. Absolutely!, everybody knows cable ties are where it’s at
  14. A mate of mine has one, a 4.9 Brumby I think?, it’s alright, does the job, a little truck really, As far as not really taking off, the only poly boats I know of are Smartwave & Polycraft, compare that to the numerous manufacturers of pressed ally, and even more in glass, the market would be fairly well sewn up, even though they can cop a good old fashioned hiding, the fact that they’re plastic, and require a bigger motor compared to a similar sized ally or glass boat, probably puts a few people off?
  15. Hi Steve, if by gyzmos you are referring to (steering/spot lock/ speed control) I use all of them! Hahaha, I haven’t yet found the need to over complicate my style of fishing with all the other wizardry these things are capable of, sure they can do some interesting things, but let’s be real, its just a glorified anchor for most of us, with the ability to reposition with relative ease. ps, don’t you go worrying about what the “cool kids” are into, save your 400 bucks and just run your own race
  16. Yep, it’s a good looking deck, but a bad looking finger, I can see that causing some discomfort
  17. Good report Hamish, you did have me when you said your old man hooked something!, Hahahaha, nice
  18. Brian, my only advice to you in regards to your expense wheel, is burn it!, and destroy all the evidence!, that kind of information can be used against you if it gets into the wrong hands, ie your wife!, I trust as a moderator you will be removing the wheel and all associated posts!, Hahahaha
  19. Good job on the mackies today boys , that fog would’ve been interesting too. You got me thinking now @ellicat, the last 4 trips we’ve done chasing mackies together has resulted in 2 mackerel donuts, 2 fish lost boat side at Ormiston, and 1 keeper last week in the Rainbow, our track record isn’t that flash is it?, so how is it that you and @Old Scaley can go out and catch 13 in a single session? is there something your not telling me?, Hahahaha!! @AUS-BNE-FISHO That Jew gobbled a 4” green nemesis paddle tail rigged on a 3/8th 3o jighead right around the turn of the tide
  20. Longhorn Cowfish, terrible Brian, just terrible
  21. If the steaks are “high”, they should probably lay off the weed, mooooving right along, it appears we’ve all hit an all time low, and yes, I do agree with Kat
  22. IGFA approved, , that’s one hell of a Bass, good on him
  23. Hey @Hweebe, have you factored in import duty & GST?
