2 hours ago, Neil Stratford said:Can we ban @Neil Stratford please? I haven’t caught that many fish in the last year, let alone on one trip. Either that, or change each species to list the top ten captures rather than the top three, so I can see my name on there occasionally.

Had a session with the sharks today. They took more than their fair share, but we managed a feed with 3 snapper and 4 brassy trevs kept.
What’s a brassy trevally Brian? Never heard of it.

@GregOug I use Sax Scent. Bloodworm or Gold Prawn. There are others. Have a look at their Website. You an but direct or they have stockists every where.
I don't put a lot on. Just lightly smear over the bait or lures. It does wear off, so you have to put more on.
Cheers.
Thanks

@ellicat I forgot to mention. I use Scent on everything, including metal lures.
A good quality Scent works. ( IMO )
Cheers.
Do you have one that you recommend, and how much do you put on?

Mate and I decided to try our hand at Monduran. It must be 20 years since I was last up there and the water level was much lower (currently only 1m below spill way) which may be why we had success 20 years ago with no sounder and no idea - there was definitely a lot of water and I am sure it spreads the fish out.
So short hand version - saw plenty on the sidescan and even more on the Livescope. recorded the livescope and its quite interesting as you can actually measure the fish - had 3 fish that would have been the magic meter all within casting zone and could not get them interested.
And that was it, 4 sessions, and not one strike - didnt feel too bad because everyone we spoke to was exactly the same…zero fish and worked hard for nothing.
Dam was pure, did all my high school in Bundy and played junior golf comps at Gin Gin and have no recollection of it being so green. Really nice time to visit. Temps were quite mild with the SE wind. Still obviously summer but not ultra humid like Bris when we left.

According the almanac it should have been excellent fishing conditions, but clearly fresh water barra cannot read. NE winds are apparently preferred but we still found plenty of fish just could not raise a bite.
If I can find a storage solution I will share a screen recording of the livescope. It was my first chance to just work it really hard and play around with things to see what worked or not. Much easier than when you are getting bounced in the ocean or river to sit on the gunnell and tinker.
So report is - saw lots, caught zero
Hi @Huxstang. Is that a LVS32 or LVS34 transducer?
cheers

It was only a one month comp. Pics of anything would be good to share though. Especially after a donut day in the bay.
Would everyone like to make it the best of three one month long comps during the year, say Jan, Apr, Aug ??
Yes

Year 7 Maths was the best four years of Greg's life ........ .
Well done to those that got out and caught some fish - some nice ones caught during the comp .
Hey! It was only three! And, in my defence, not many people could get their head around a slide rule in their first year.

It finally happened. I caught a fish. Not a big one, and I had to stand through a couple of rain squalls, but some silly fish somehow hooked itself and I reeled the bugger in
24.5cm whiting. Not enough for dinner, but enough to keep me interested for the next 12 months or so!!
Well done Ross!

@ GregOug you are 100% correct, I will give myself an uppercut, maybe I should have said "this is one of the rare forums where you can have an opinion or ask for advice without some smart arse taking the piss out of you, however, as is the way their are always a few exceptions". Hows that sound you reckon.
I reckon you’ve got it sussed.
