Good work Ray, and sounds like a good brekky. -
You can also buy pre colored jigheads if you like, though most of these colors are pretty generic.

Looks like a beautiful reel, hope you get some big ones on it.

Good stuff Steve, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get one like that up here in Yeppoon.

new south wales thinking about trying for a huge carp.
AUS-BNE-FISHO replied to Bob9863's topic in Freshwater
Are you going to try the methods similar to what they do in the UK? Where they have a little sac full of bait off the bottom of the hook? -
Good work Ray, looks like a fun day for all.

Hey Luke, Welcome to the forum. I’m not much help about the Whitsundays but at Yeppoon, the school mackerel have started running around the rocky headlands. Trolling around these headlands could you see catching some nice fish. The Fitzroy is also apparently clean at the moment so the prawns and salmon are around. Good luck, let us know how you go. Cheers Hamish

It’s supposed to be a great spot for landbased game fishing, I’d cast some slugs or live bait around and see what you can come up with. Good luck.- 3 replies

They seemed to be taking a tonne of prawns, and from what I could see there was also a fair bit of fish coming up in the net too. I don’t really know all the facts behind it but I’m sure banning trawling in the river could only be a good thing. But then, the issue is, where are all the ‘Moreton Bay’ prawns going to come from -
Good work bro, glad you’ve been getting on a few.

Nice video Neil.

Thanks guys. I’ll try some wire mesh next time, my old ones were made out of gutter guard and the muddies could still rip holes in them. Otherwise I’ll try and buy some trawler netting material to use.

Good work Ray, hope you can find all the pots the grub stole.
