  1. Sounds like a great session, nice job. Good work on the cobia too.
  2. You could try Ebay. 100 x Bulk black Long shank baitholder hooks size 6 free ship $8.9 | eBay
  3. Nice work @flattyfan4573, sounds like a great grunter.
  4. Nice work Rebel, sounds like a productive session.
  5. Great looking boat! Looks like it’ll be a weapon on the fish
  6. Any knot like a uni or blood knot will work.
  7. You can also make a rig where the sinker comes off from the side swivel, effectively making your bait a fixed sinker rig on the bottom (similar but slightly different to a paternoster).
  8. I normally use a loop knot when using lures as well, but if you're changing lures frequently then a snap swivel may help make things easier. The downside is that the snap can supposedly hinder the action of the lure, but I have never personally experienced this. You could try tying a leader knot (for example, FG or Albright knot) from the end of your spooled line to the start of the leader, this way you can make your leader longer without having to worry about a swivel getting stuck in your rod guides as well.
  9. Sounds like some great fishing even if there were a lot of sharks @crazywalrus, good stuff!
  10. Sounds exciting! There seems to be an issue with all photos on the forum lately.
  11. Same here, no pics on iPhone or computer.
  12. Hi Steve, yes I have noticed this, I should probably try the zman 3 inch Minnowz lure. I find I normally get one or two uses out of the same baitjunkie before it just slides off the jighead keeper every cast.
  13. RMG Scorpion 35 in Golden Green for bass or 3.2 inch Baitjunkie minnow in Motor Oil for flathead.
  14. Nice work Ray, a few little ones is better than none.
  15. Did you get the 8 foot 6-10KG spinnning model? I've been thinking about getting that one for a while so would be good to hear if it's any good.
  16. Great work Neil, that's some good quality there!
  17. Nice stuff Dino. Is that a RMG Poltergiest you're using?
  18. Are you fishing in the Brissy River? That would be enough, but if there is a bit of structure you might not have the stopping power to prevent a bust off.
  19. If you want to fish off the land, try a rod around 8-9 feet long, as casting a decent length helps in my experience, with a 5000-8000 baitrunner reel spooled with 300 metres of thirty pound braid. I like a Silstar Crystal Powertip 8 foot 6-8KG rod, and reels like an Okuma Coronado CDX, or any Shimano Baitrunner is good too. I normally use a size 4 star sinker or lower it down to a size 3 snapper sinker if there's not much tide with 50 pound leader and a 6/o circle hook. If fishing in the Brisbane River, you'll also get lots of bycatch like snapper, flathead, and tailor doing this as well.
  20. Cheers guys, hopefully a bit more success next time.
  21. Great fish Neil. That cobia isn't that little either! What is the fish third down on the left in the first photo? Hamish
