  1. As Benno say's it's the total possession limit including your freezer at home. This stops people from having 10 times the limit and saying they caught them over 10 different days. As for the fisheries I think you will find they can search your boat ,car ,house without a warrant and confiscate what ever. But having said that I got pulled over by them during the snapper ban which they were mainly checking for. We were out side the seaway and didn't have flares. Also had half an undersize tailor on the bait board. There main concern was no flares which is a $160 fine . They gave us a good safety lecture and let me off with a warning. Same with the tailor. I think their main concern is educating people to do the right thing. PS I bought flares the next day...

    COVID Lockdown

Best thing about last lock down was no jet skis
  3. I've been told that tying a loop knot to the lure is the way.. But the snap is good for changing lures if not working. But maybe they don't work because of the snap ???? But I haven't caught anything on a lure ( exempt for a mullet in the eye) so I wouldn't really know..Taking the kids in the boat to the Coombabah and Coomera in the morning. Got some prawns and pilchards for them but im just going to stick to lures. 2 rods one with hards and one with softs.. Let you know how I go.. Thats if i don't throw the kids overboard first
  4. Looks like a great day. Very peaceful compared to the seaway.. Where do you put your boat in to fish palmy
  5. Plus I also forgot to mention that the air con died. Doesn't worry me but have to put up with the missus complaining. Need to go out fishing...
  6. So keen to go out this morning hardly slept last night. Pulling out the garage and must of bumped the remote and the garage door came down. Pulled the door out of the tracks and bent and twisted the panels. Wors't of all I gouged all the top of my motor. Managed to get the door closed Its F@#@$# tho. But doesn't matter could still go for a fish. Get to Labrador boat ramp and is full. Go to Loders creek and 3 parks left but 4 boats behind me. Go out thru the seaway and what a mess. Ive only got a 4.2 runabout so we came back into the seaway. Was like a washing machine. Never seen so many boats and ###jet skis All sizes and shapes. Was not very good when some tosser in a huge boat tries to see how close he can come to you and how fast .Mate caught a little cobia tho 55cm.. a bit short . All I got was 2 pike on bait jigs and I lost 2 brand new jigs doing it. At that rate them 2 pike must of cost about $60 a kilo. And just to top the day off get back to the ramp and some one had hit my trailer and bent the tail light bracket. Haveing recovery beers now..
  7. Get P off when watching fishing shows and every lure cast is a fish.. And every fish is a beutifull fish, Never catch any ugly ones. Was watching Mark Berg the other morning and he was in some great place and pulling in huge fish then at the end he said how hard it was. Was doing about 200 cast to get a bite. I do about 20 casts and thats enought for me go back to bait. How long do others cast for.
  8. Nice fish If fish are busting you off or spooling you then good on the fish he won that fight
  9. Well by giving up the ciggys you mite not have a heart attack with shock when you do catch a big fish.
  10. Sounds like a great rod.. Can anybody pack up a bait jig to put away without getting it all tangled.?

Sounds like the place your talking about was on Mark Bergs fishing adventures a week or so ago. Was pretty impressed as the guy was a local and started the business for the village. His name was Riccardo and had an accent so sounds like the same person. Caught some great fish. Wish it was me going there.

I went on a cruise to PNG. It is a beautiful place and can tell by the waterways and surroundings that it would be awesome fishing. Wandered around some of the villages and markets. The locals were so friendly. But was told it can be a different place after dark. Would love to go back there to go fishing.. But then again there's lots of places i'd love to go fishing.
  14. I fished the Gold coast seaway today. Great conditions. Pitty about the fish. Was a good day tho..So good I mite do it again tommorow. In the Coomera river or broadwater tho not the seaway..Bought a TLD25 two months ago and the next day I got a shoulder infection from a previous shoulder replacement. So today was the first time I've used it, Looked at it a lot of times in the past 2 months. 4 hours and not a touch on anything and then the new reel went ZINGGGGG. It went good. Thought I had a Jewy or hoped I did. Tried to grab the phone then the net then the gaff..Was a shark. Thresher I think about 1,5m. Had him by the leader then he jumped out of the water and broke off. Nearly took me with him. So today I went out in the boat and fished for the first time in 2 months and now having a beer for the first time in 2 months what a good day.. Sorry for rambling ..Cant hold my beer like i used to
  15. Hoping to fish the Gold Coast Seaway. Don't think it'll be any good to go outside. If gets windy the Broadwater. Wave break island .
  16. I'm hoping to go out Thursday. Getting over a shoulder operation and haven't been fishing for 2 months.
  17. I agree with above. When that light breeze picks up and changes direction the conditions can change so quickly. If I go out side in my 4.2 runabout im only about 20 mins back to the seaway and head back as soon as it looks like changing
  18. I have a 4.2 Bermuda runabout with a 40hp merc 2 stroke. Can do 30 knots 55ks with 2 people in it in the right conditions. Also go out thru the Gold Coast seaway on good days. I only have a 26 litre fuel tank and would only use about half a tank on an average day. Pretty cheap day out.
  19. Mate Im talking about 50 years ago It's proberly all changed now
  20. When I was growing up in Melb about 50 years ago I had a friend who used to catch them of the rock wall at St Kilda pier

    Getting Old

Ummm Where's the funny bits???? Everything on there looks quit normal to me..
  22. I had similar problems on my 40 hp Merc. Hadn't had it for long and the previous owner never used it for a long time. Found the fuel lines and bulb perished on the inside and blocking the fuel system. Replaced the lines ,bulb and filter. Ran much better but still had probs. Run fine at home in the driveway but not on the water. Stripped down the carbies and soaked them in carby clean. Amazing what came out of what looked like clean carbies. Hasn't missed a beat since.
  23. If you bring VB you can come to my place..
  24. I caught about 20 pike a while ago. Was putting them in the freezer to use for future bait. Decided to fillet half a dozen of them to see what they taste like. Didn't do anything fancy. Just a bit of flour and in the fry pan with a bit of oil. Was very surprised. Absoulutely beautiful. Haven't caught any more since.
