Bit late to the party with holt prawns, they pop up everywhere in online reviews, but I've heard they don't live up to the hype.

I'm hoping to sneak up on a few flathead inside bribie in a few weeks, aiming to get my 1st on plastics. Taking a handful of zerek prawns, different sizes and colours, and a few vibes and minnows. Anyone have any other favs/recommendations be it lure or technique? hoping some local knowledge could give me an edge.

I've learnt something new today. Always linked ciguatera poisoning with large pelagics and sharks, never freshwater. ( an old wise man told me never eat a fish bigger than yourself). Wonder if it applies to redclaw, or only fish?

Saw some vids on YouTube recently,prob shoulda copied the link now I think about it, group of kayakers from redcliffe camped at mission. Did pretty good for flattys, bream and jack over couple of days.

Was over there end of sept. on the yak, they had 3 barges running from inskip and lines of 4x4 as far as you could see on both sides. Might be a good thing for fishing future to pull it back a bit, much to the disappointment of people whos livelyhood relys on the tourist $$ though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the yellow zones would open for recreation, closed for commercial. Their wording is a bit hard to follow. Can't see all that coastline being shut down for recreational fishing. Possibly other restrictions, size limits , bag limits.

Geez no good for the eagle/ whatever. Was it only hooked in foot? Anyway good seeing your usual awesome trout catches.

Interesting to see the different growth rates from different areas, wonder if the difference is more genetics, diet, water temps. possibly combination or something else entirely.

Panthers v eels would be good. Congrats to all on the tipping comp! Never tipped the boncos and always tipped the dogs saved me from wooden spoon!

Was out at bribie this morning, at woorim beach catching absolutely nothing, noticed a few 4x4s towing 4 - 5 metre boats full of drag nets heading up the beach. I assume they were chasing the tuna that kept dodging my well placed baits and slugs or possibly tailor. Anyone know more about this? Curious about the process, could clean up on tuna and would be a spectacle to see nets hauled up on beach.
