  1. I'm in! Go mighty Northside! Think we finished in top 2 last time but still waiting on results...
  2. What's the monster eeltail catfish looking thing? Snake head?
  3. Check wivenhoe seq site for recent closures due to low levels and civil works for access, think billies bay is shut. From memory the red claw are native and noxious at the same time so I keep only the males, no size limit. Use shrimp or worms, if you can't find the bass you should at least find some catfish. Have fun!
  4. That's a top fish good work. I always wondered when I tore my cast net am I putting more holes in it or less?
  5. I'll be first to bite.... What's with the tag? Slang for catfish?
  6. Sounds like a trip of a life time! Looking forward to seeing bit more of an exotic array of species than we usually see.
  7. I can't find a stockman's or stockyard point on bribie? Might be just looking in wrong area or maybe has a different name?
  8. Welcome. Always nice when someone puts in words what most are thinking when it comes to fishing. Never just about filling your belly. Hope to hear your adventures soon.
  9. Thanks for the tips on stockman's and Gallaghers. Il have a look for next time, for now already have site booked and heart set on the challenge to mission point.
  10. 8 in 1 ! Good numbers. Lime pocket north of the green zone?
  11. Il be doing this same solo kayak mission to mission for a few nights in about 6 weeks time. Don't know how the mad hughesy went but keen to hear if any ones fished that area lately, if the green zone north has visible floaty marker bouys, if the yabby beds still producing or if any1 here's been doing anything similar lately. Feel free to p.m. any secret spots or tips.
  12. Was hoping bellamy would take the job but madge will do. 2024 nsw 3-0
  13. I reckon it wouldve been a warm one out there today
  14. Or.... It's a majestic landscape in ruthless world, ruled by the mighty white bellied eagle above the water and the legendary Australian bass below. A place where, depending on the fishing gods, you could be blessed by the burp of a 2 m lungfish or humbled by the slime of a fork tail catfish. A place where you'll risk paralysis from the deadly Australian bush tick to cast your purple poltergeist or dodge a razor back to check your shrimp trap. Otherwise known as north pine dam.
  15. Was waiting on your report. Went out smorning for 5 catfish on the other side. Couple of hits on poppers that didn't turn into hookups. Good to see you got a few!
  16. Went for wander down there Sunday, levels are low and water is clear, didn't notice much in the way of lillipads but structure under surface easy to see and cast at.
  17. Yeh nice work ! Will be throwing some lures there this weekend so advice taken
  18. Will have a Google. Need a boat or tough it through the stingers?
  19. Hi all A quick write up and a question concerning my latest fishing attempts. Last Saturday travelled up eastern side of Fraser with a team far more experienced than I, who were to show me over the next 5 days, the tailor run in all its glory. 1st few days it was easy to blame the wind for not catching fish but last 2 days the tailor went hard and quickly became a comp between us all. I was wrong to assume how simple it would be but was guided by some masters on the intracacies of everything from casting the giant alveys, to picking your gutter, to etiquette when your spot gets pinched by a random who saw you catch that last fish. A new fishing avenue I will now be dedicating a week to annually. (Not bothering with pics- I'm reading they're not working) Home wednesday, up in airlie beach now for a week with the family - here's the question- any advice on land based fishing spots airlie beach /shute harbour area? Got a mix of tackle and soft plastics. Will hit up the tackle shops tomorrow but thought I'd put it out here as well. Some of the rock walls and marinas look like they have potential. Any help gladly appreciated.
  20. I fish there a bit ( will actually be up there Saturday going to Fraser WOOHOO) Tailor should be around but a general tip my son actually showed me in May this year, wait a min or 2 after the barge leaves and cast prawns or strip bait into the churned up wash from the barge. We picked up a few good sized bream goin in for a feed in the wash. Turned a poor days fishing to a good morning. Also sunrise and sunset and look for the birds. Have fun it's probably my favourite part of the world.
