  1. Yeh will put details up when I figure it out myself, and about those brownie points, I have to factor in the missus and kids like a force of nature, wind and moon and tides, hard to get them all aligned just right!
  2. As the days are getting longer, and mornings getting warmer, im starting to get the itch to get back to the great sandy strait. Wondering if anyone would like to head out for a day of kayaking and chasing pelagics/ whatevers around with me? Hopefully get 3 trips in between now an Xmas, depending on tides and weather. If anyones keen to give it a go or just interested, pm me. Look forward to hearing from yas ! P.s. October 10th and October 24th tides looking good.
  3. Massive thanks to you Ray and Hai, slow day for you, good day for me compared to other hours I've pumped into npd. I've been going over the npd maps for months but for my first time on that stretch of the lake nothing beats getting out there with someone who really knows the place to show you around. Very grateful fellas, il give it a bash in the kayak this week and let yas know how I go.
  4. Thats a top yella, was out there today and picked up my permit. Looking forward to catching a few!!
  5. Forgive my ignorance, is that kurwongbah? Havnt been there since npd allowed kayaks, but if it is hows the coomboombah weed going in there?
  6. Hi Don't give up, keep plugging along. I've got a 2 , 4 , 7 yr old and this afternoon we went to deep water bend. We caught maybe a dozen bream, whiting, toadies and mullet, All undersized. When I'm kiddy fishing I always start out with tiny hooks and tiny baits, catching tiny fish but keeps the kids interested. They love helping me with cast net as well. Id be lucky to bring home a feed 1 outta 10 times with them but we always have fun and enjoy being out there.
  7. Awesome day. Couple of weeks ill be out there myself in the kayak, cant wait.
  8. Good work out there. So that picture of your sounder screen, is that what a school of bass looks like? I've sounded the odd arc here and there but don't think I've seen that.
  9. Aw man maybe next time if there is 1? Need give work a bit more notice but I'm keen to head out with you bass masters. I live near npd, have my sips and looking to join the bas in a few weeks. All my own gear as well. I do alright with the bass but see your numbers blow me away.
  10. Im always waiting for your guys reports, u smash it out there. Do you find with this cold snap there hanging out in deeper than usual?
  11. Nice work. Is that npd by any chance?
  12. 1st hand experience they're awesome. Though I ended up spending close to $200. In store at hobie at the port, I brought my trail blaza gear from tackle world lawnton to keep it local. Ideal for garmin, solid and can mix and match extensions and mounts to suit what you need. Try find a pic n add it.
  13. There some solid tailor. Fished couple of sunrises few weeks back at shorncliffe and it was as if some1 flicked a switch when the first signs of daylight came they started smashing hardy heads on surface.
  14. Hi Jake I run a garmin striker 4 on my yak, really happy with it, easy to use. I used railblazer gear to securely and reliably connect it all to yak. Expensive but worth it in my mind. Battery wise I suggest going to jaycar or similar. after speaking with staff it was at least half the price and more then tackle/camping/ fishing shops for battery set up. As for stabilisers i can see where they might be handy but I've never used or needed them. This my rig minus sounder.
  15. Ha same. Best 5 hours of the day though.
  16. South western fraser. Casting herring for mackerel and tuna, also thought it was an out of place catch. Bit of coffee rock around though wouldn't call it reef.
  17. Hi all Anyone care to guess what this is? My best is an undersized mangrove jack, though the bright red i havnt seen befor prompted me to a quick google search which came up as red bass - non edible. Are they the same fish or is it something else? Released either way but was curious.
  18. Sure can mate, been a few years since ive been out there but use to fish both sides of the main wall at entrance to mariner/boat harbour. Just stay off the private trawler docks.
  19. Looks like il need to get my exercise and gather my food elsewhere....
  20. Thinking bout taking my little ones for a fish at deep water bend, north pine river this weekend. Anyone care to guess if it will be a chocolate milkshake or if the tides will clear it up a bit?
  21. Yeah they have a dingo box and couple of tables, that's about all. I don't think they let the kayaks on the barge. $10 return just to walk on from inskip though. All about timing the tides and the winds, current goes hard through there but time it right and use it to your advantage. Easter Friday and a bout a month after looks promising. Its got me hooked how accessible it is, i look at tide tables months ahead and pick my possible dates.
