queensland Maroon dam

Took the boat down to Maroon dam today to hopefully catch some perch and bass. Arrived at around 10am (not ideal) and got on the water by 10:30. Went down away from the skiers to a very timbered area. After about 2 hours and a couple of moves we found a hot spot where we were getting heaps of yellow belly and were getting ready to leave when something took me down into the weeds and got me. But the hook stayed in and I literally reefed up half the lake to pull in this fish. It was a bass which measured in at 35cm. Not massive but I was happy.
