Forgotten Casurina Report

Due to heading to Straddy soon after I forgot a little Casurina report from a couple of weeks ago. Nothing amazing but worth knowing for anyone heading down...

Trip started badly with my kayak paddle snapping on the launch. I had planned to fish most of the local creeks in the yak and was nearly exclusively geared up for this alone (6 foot rods etc).

I decided to head to the headland at Bogangar next where we have caught a lot of tailor in the past. The tailor were there in force but mostly babies. I caught about 10-12 on micro jigs that were around 25cm with only 2 legals for the day. Pretty fun and random on a 6 foot bream rod though...

Next day we met up with some friends at the mouth of the Brunswick River. No monsters but this turned out to be a fun flatty session with 7 fish landed between the 2 of us. All fish were almost the same size at 43-44cm. I kept hoping for the big female amongst them but it was not to be.

All in all a bit of fun for not the most familiar of territory.
