Glad you’re my fishing mate, not my accountant lol.

Sure was a nice day on the water. Catching fish was a bonus in those conditions, although we were due after a couple of really quiet sessions. So glad that we only had the one shark and that it took the bait (whole grinner) rather than a hooked fish. Let’s hope that session is a taste of the upcoming snapper season. Thanks for the day out, Brian. Lots of laughs and a few fish to boot!

I think I read somewhere at the time that he did get it treated by a taxidermist and mounted for his wall? Maybe that was a different fish? Interesting to scroll through the comments on the Facebook page. Reminds me why I avoid posting or reacting to anything on FB.

I need a new grinder.
My makita just pooped itself.
What lure do you recommend for 5 inch 24v brushless Milwaukee?
Good job on the tuna BTW.
Those longies go hard.
Damn predictive text got me again!

My mother had 12 kids so had to stretch the food where possible. We used to get 6 pints of milk delivered ( there used to be “milkmen” back then). Mum would cut it with powdered milk to make 12 pints. Milk is the only food I don’t like, but it is not because of that - it was the third of a pint school milk bottles that were always left in the sun before we were forced to drink it at little lunch. The rich kids had flavoured straws to hide the rancid taste, but the rest of us had to drink it straight. Yuk! Sorry @Angry51, I don’t know the brand you are trying to think of.

It was tried on Paul Gallen, but his head killed the rock.
The way I heard it was that Gallen couldn’t hit the rock hard enough to do any damage and then the ARL changed the trap design so that the rock couldn’t get revenge at the next Trap of Origin? Maybe I heard wrong?

Agree. Seems a little unfair doesn't it...
Do you reckon the Warriors might get a fair share of the decisions if the game was in NZ. They certainly copped a few poor decisions yesterday. I tipped Storm but thought the Warriors deserved the win. When was the last time we saw the kicker penalised for crabbing an extra step or two on the goal line drop out? Rubbish.

Nice report, Hamish. Good to see some tailor around already and good size as well. A mate has been getting some gooduns off the northern NSW beaches for a few weeks now, so we might be in for a good season.

Have to admire your dedication @TheCharliefisho. I reckon those big bream that hang around pilons at marinas are way too cagey to fool for most of the tricks fishos try to capture them. Probably not a lot of salt water fishing going to happen on the east coast this week. Grrrr!

Isn't it called a barge when you have the car on board?
You can get a passenger ferry as well, @Kat. Much, much cheaper if you are going for a day trip and don’t need to take heaps of stuff.

I didn’t know that you had come out. Good for you, Brian. Was it a surprise to Mrs Ellicat?

Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Mulloway is definitely a trophy fish for most fishers, so I am sure this will be eagerly read by many. Welcome to the forum! Making a contribution with your second post - impressive.

Good to see Kelvin. The boys are right about paravane fishing. It is a bit dull compared to some other techniques but it does get results. Congrats on the spotties.

Love your work, Hamish. That crab is a beast and like others have said, cod is great on the table.

Go the Qld teams! 4 out of 4! I was expecting Magic Round to be Tragic Round for my tipping, but if I hadn’t changed my tip from Souths to Storm at the last minute, it truly would have been magic for me. It won’t last, so I want to enjoy it while it does.
