  1. Where do you plan to use the punt?
  2. Awesome Monster Brown trout. Do you run into any other fishos out your way or do you pretty much have the area all to yourself? aka your very own fishing waterway?
  3. You are not wrong here, parents have a pembroke and if you play fetch, he will run all day or until your arm breaks off from so many throws. Welcome back to boating and fishing. Looking forward to your posts.
  4. I thought this topic was going a whole other way. Waiting for @GregOug to chime in and kick it off.
  5. That's the challenge I have now with a trolling motor - Without that barrier or repositioning / anchoring the urge is to be impatient and move when holding position is still a good option and wait for the fish to come back around.
  6. I second @ellicat tie your own dropper rigs. I use this setup all the time. The pre-rig setup would be a nightmare to keep untangled it there is any current or wash where you're fishing.

Do a plugs swap out on the water next time this happens so you can at least rule bad plugs out? That's really frustrating and for me unnerving. Intermittent issues are the worse. It may or may not be relevant for you but when my last Mercury Optimax had an intermittent engine gremlin - coincidently throttle wouldn't go wide open. 1st mech - tried plugs, then coils and the issue still occurred (intermittently). 2nd mech - found the actual issue was in the throttle lever (something had broken inside) - Only way he knew was he had seen it before Pays to find an experienced mech.
  8. That seems too good to be true , couldn't find any other 16 ply that comes close to PE2 and 50lb. Not sure why it isn't widely available
  9. Nice clear sky for stars . The new phones can do it but not as well as an SLR especially if you have some foreground with different lighting like the tent shot (the phone will tend to overexpose)
  10. I reckon the sea toad had another go at your rig. Some sharp teeth on the larger specimens

Who do you think will form their key spine positions 1, 6,7,9?

I normally don't like bashing refs but he was a joke last night. Penalty for a delay of game was the final straw for me. Old mate coudn't put his yellow cards away
  13. My gut feel is that the prop shaft should be ok (fingers crossed) it was really a slow drift and better the prop blade break off and not the shaft getting bent. From what i could see there was minimal to no flew in the prop blade (makes sense) and as soon as the bump happened, the blade snapped like brittle plastic. I'd say if I'm an engineer this is how i would design it and sacrifice the prop to protect the shaft.
  14. Pricing in Australia for a replacement prop was $140-$150 but stock seems ok. I ended up ordering from from https://www.tradeinn.com/waveinn/en at just on $80 (including shipping) approx 2 weeks.
  15. 1) Have fished Boggy creek and you will definitely get some larger specimens with the right tides and being in the right spot. You will find the just legal size +10cm is the most common size there when targeting flatties 2) Unlikely but possible - Best bet is take as a keeper for a feed
  16. Perfect pan size for dinner - can't get any fresher

    Boat Build

Very tidy and well presented boat. How cool is it that you can claim you have built this boat from scratch with your own hands. Wish I had this type of skills. Have you been able to pass on your boat making skills to the next generation?
  18. So dumb mistake on the weekend with the new Minn Kota bow mount it does overhang the front of the boat quite a bit but is still 30-50cm higher than the pontoon. As a creature of habbit I was busy lining up the pontoon on the port side - everything going as per usual. What I didn't account for / factor was that the pylons holding the pontoon extend straight up. As I docked the boat it drifted forward ever so slightly and the front of the minn kota prop blade clipped the pylon and snap - 3 blade prop converted to 2 blade. Needless to say i'll be docking the pontoons from the opposite side (starboard) to avoid this from happening again.
  19. Wow that is for sure an elbow slapper whiting!! Well done Kat
  20. Nice Pano photo for sure - All photos look the goods if taken at golden hour (for both light and fishing)
  21. Always good to have a spot close to home where you can decide on a dime to wet a line. Is it much of a walk from where you walk to where you first cast?
  22. Check out this dashboard - it's a few years old but still some interesting stats. Post here what you found interesting> https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-priorities/fisheries/monitoring-research/monitoring-reporting/statewide-recreational-fishing-surveys/dashboard This is what I found interesting and damning evidence for the wives and girlfriends of fishos: The boat purchase is just the start..............."other equipment" really adds up!

Humm so engine purring along up to 4000rpm and no error codes / limp mode. I'm with @Andrew_P some sort of fuel or fuel line (cracked line / air leak) issue is the most likely. Is the Throttle wide open or is the still further range....What about the throttle cable linkage being loose / stretched and requiring adjustment?

Ignition coils? What was the engine doing? Misfire?
