how to prepare a squid?

After it's dead pull the head off, most of the guts will come out too. They have little "fins" near the top of their tube which also pull off easily. Next cut the tube up the middle so you can scrape the skin, slime etc of it. You should be left with 1 or 2 clean flaps depending on how you cut it which then can be cut into stips of your choice.

Alternativley you can remove the head and skin then turn the tube inside out to clean the new outside, formally the inside, so you can have the rings the fish and chip shops sell.

Make sure you keep any scraps especially the head as they make one of if no the best baits for jewies and snapper.;)
