What sort of hardware will i need to grab though?
Sorry, I don't know - I had someone else do all the hard work of installation.

How many amps is the battery ? You'll be wanting at least 100 amps.
No soldering required.

@AUS-BNE-FISHO, @Thorbjorn Hale may have the answer, being river regulars.

If I'd know this was on last night.........
Landed my first Jack. 35 ish cm. On a Kmart rod set up for bream using checked kebab as bait.
Picture when I get home and work this out
No secret signal/symbol this month, due to the late decision to extend the comp. Keep an eye out for next month though.
If you have a picture of the Jack on a measuring device it will qualify as a submission.
Well done on your first. I bet it played up deluxe on the bream gear.
If you are having any trouble sorting out how to upload the pics shoot me a PM. Either that, or wait a week and the site's pic issue should be fixed.

Sounds good! But usually if it is near to Christmas everyone is "too busy" to make it...
True, but I was thinking after the December comp, so somewhere in January ?? If the comp is a tie, we could have a fish-off. haha

Hey @Neil Stratford, We went to the Rous this morning and the bay was brown. Lost the only decent fish and got menaced by green sea toads. We had a shocker.
Looks like you did alright. Grassies are the favoured table fair from the bay at our place. 20lb and scull dragging them in may be the only option until the sharks go a little quieter in Autumn/Winter.
Did you happen to get a photo on a measure of any of your fish ? I've extended the North Vs South comp to be monthly. No secret signal for February.

The comp is being extended to being a monthly competition with a winner for each month. Most months won takes away a grand prize at the end of the year. Also, I have introduced a "Trophy Fish of any Species not covered above" category. This will be for something like a pb Barra or Mangrove Jack that is somewhat remarkable.

OK. I'm making an executive decision. We'll run the comp monthly from now on, and include all of February.

We could do it monthly, Tony.

Were you in the river by any chance ? What was the water like ?

?
It was only a one month comp. Pics of anything would be good to share though. Especially after a donut day in the bay.
Would everyone like to make it the best of three one month long comps during the year, say Jan, Apr, Aug ??

Tried everything in the box. Jackall 79’s, Zerek Flat shads, Molix 140’s, some of my old RMG and Halco’s, B52 deep, even tried a Zerek vibe and a Zman frog for surface. Mate even tried a curly tail to try and mix it up.
Spoke to quite a few people at ramp and accomodation and no one was getting anything so just seems they were shut down and not feeding. Thing with the sounders you can see just how much bait is available, so unlike rivers where its more opportunistic.
It was a great trip for me…so much time to spend on my electronics and really get a better feel for it. The LVS is definitely a great thing to actually see if fish are there and look forward to being more targetted with it around the river etc.
Yeah, they don't eat all day every day. Barometer play any part, do you think ?
With the Livescope, the river threadies and jew will be praying for you to go on holidays again.

Hey Brian see if you can see this reel on Facebook mate?
Basically you can see we are in @ 6m of water and at around 1min you will see some fish moving across bottom right to left. Scale across and up are all in meters.
I then used the screen zoom to look more closely and you can clearly see they are barra. The grids are 1m square so you can see just how big these fish are.
Yeah, I see them. How cool is that. It would make the no bites more frustrating. What were you throwing at them ?

Pre season challenge started last night with the Dogs defeating a mostly unheard of Storm side.
Tonight the Indigenous Allstars games are on, with the women first at 4.50pm AEST.
Time is ticking on the start of the season proper, so get signed up for the tipping comp.
Everyone welcome.
