Nog got a reaction from Angry51 in On the fly
Thanks @ellicat for the potential recruit 🙂 @Tuna are fish.
Flyfishing is just another way to spend hard earned cash and not catch fish 🙂
I love it to bits.
Go to a club meeting first and see what type of idiot fly fishes and get some help in casting and advice on gear if you are interested. PM for details of clubs around the area. BFFC meet at Everton PArk Scouts and the SEQFF meet at Mermaid Waters Bowls CLub.
There is also the Malard and Claret but very Trouty focussed
Cheers

Nog got a reaction from Brodie_S in Rod suggestions and general information
I got two of the Veritas 3.0 on special and I reckon they are a great rod for the money.
This one would probably suit your requirements

Shimnao Terez TZS72M (20-40lb) 7'2" if you want to spend a bit of coin. I have the TZS72MH to pair with a Saragosa 10000 and it's a beast of a setup.
Whatever your budget is bro

Nog got a reaction from Drop Bear in Finding my Dream Boat
PEople might bag them but a StabiCraft is one very seaworthy boat.
A 5.2 cente console would be the cheery.
FYI. I have a Galeforce 5.5 glass boat and at a stretch would do LAdy Muscrave on a calm day

Nog reacted to Junky in Do tuskies feed at night?
I've caught all my big ones during the day.
My tip is shallow water, up to 20m. Very strong fighting fish when they are big. Tasty too.
We call them bluebone.

Nog got a reaction from GregOug in Lure casting rod/reel combo
For trolling you'd only need a cheapy boat rod that has some serious down low guts. A Silstar crytsal tip or an ugly stick would be fine.
As for a reel, any cheapy TLD's that still have good gears and drag would be fine. I have one that's years oldand I just treat thedrag washers with Erskine Reel grease from time to time.
Alot can be said about the benfits of braid in casting soft plastic and getting down deep but for trolling keep it simple and spool up a million metres of 20-25 lb mono.
Although why you'd troll for Tuna when you could cast a perfectly decent fly at them is totally beyond me 🙂
FWIW

Nog reacted to Ed. in worth the wait
At a guess and it is a bit hard to tell from that pic but I suspect it is a Keelback snake (non venomous), bear in mind that I am no snake expert. Nog you just beat me to it.
