I went into that same local today to get some 10lb braid and almost walked out with the one remaining 2500 they have.
I'm waiting on my new 4-6kg nitro rod to arrive and if my 2500 vanford balances nicely on it then I might be popping back to grab it.
I was damn tempted as it was.

I had a cast with it before work this morning and I might have made a mistake.
Now I'm giving serious thought selling off my vanford and buying a couple more Stella's in a 1000 and 2500 size. It's just such a beautiful reel to use.
Might have to have another hit this afternoon.

This is me as well. I'm not good with looking after my gear and certainly if you get a Stellar you will need to commit time to keeping always clean after a fishing sesh.
I'm ok when i'm fishing from home base and doing the post fishing sesh cleanup in the mancave, but when i'm out on location its usually the last thing I want to do

They are very good quality and worth the money if you can afford them. I won't buy one... I don't look after my gear very well.

Nope. I have given up trying though. It doesn't open so I will just let it do home games.

After a bit of Googling, I'd say it is not a Fortescue Grunter.
Maybe refer to your state museum for assistance with the ID.

Looks like a big job Ray. I've gotta do mine like that.
What are you going to put on top, carpet / sandy paint mix or leave it as is.

Completely gutted it took over a day as I had to remove 2 X 24 volt battery banks using a crane. Brian uncertain if I saved any weight the reason I went ally was because the boat is stored in the open and the ply only lasted 7 years. I was lucky that I scored some 6m lengths of ally solar panel support raking that I was able to use for the framing.

Been putting it off for a while. Did a temporary patch job a couple of months ago but finally bit the bullet and started. Been going for over a week and starting to see some progress. Neighbour been enjoying me cutting up 2mm plate on the saw bench.

Nice session there Dino. Perhaps @christophagus needs to organise a shark social at your bass spot ......... 🙂.

Another arvo session, put the footy on tape and off to the local, not for a drink, but for a crazy arvo fish for bass. Although talking about drinks, I got a shock when I took a big drink from my water bottle, it was straight water, I grabbed the wrong bottle, should of been cordial.
Anyway I walked until the back and legs refused to go any further and managed quite a lot of healthy bass. Aim is to get them before the bullsharks clean them out. Beetlespins, spinnerbaits and blades done the trick.Easy to see why we are only getting small ones in the dam.

Are these all the same species? Spangled perch or fortescue grunters? I thought they were all spangled perch.. but then noticed one big silver one which makes me wonder if the others are actually the endangered fortescue grunters. These are from the fortescue river upper catchment and I'm not sure if the fortescue grunter is found that high up. Any help would be much appreciated!

I just received the latest email from Steve Starling ‘Starlo and Jo’. The first article is about the Western Australian government proposing to close reef fishing for Eight to Nine months each year! If you are interested in more information go to fishotopia.com.au and register for the newsletter. Hopefully you will receive the current one where this absurd closure is discussed.
    cheers
