  1. Hey Breaming with bro That looks cool. Hopefully the cheaper X4 works better. I'd assume X8 will always be better due to price, and the reason it's smoother (or the reason X4 is rougher), may be because of the fibres used to make that braid. Just on another note, how are you going left hand reeling? Cheers Hamish
  2. That one went straight over my head Drop Bear. Lol. Could you please explain? Cheers Hamish
  3. Hey all Here is this weeks edition of Bush and Beach fishing. Looks like fisheries have cleaned up some things too! https://bnbfishing.com.au/?mc_cid=3448045486&mc_eid=9020033529 Cheers Hamish
  4. Good one rayke1938. I love the shot of the boat up on land. Cheers Hamish
  5. Hey Dinodadog Haha, that's pretty funny. He did a good job on the fish though. Looks like he had a great haul! Cheers Hamish
  6. Hey kmcrosby78 Good luck. Hopefully you manage a stonka or two! I've never even caught a tailor, so I'd be happy with a PB of 44cm Cheers Hamish
  7. Hey Neil Welcome to the forum, and that is a great tailor session. Good job. I've never heard of tagging tailor so I am curious to hear about that also. Keep up the great reports Cheers Hamish
  8. Hey kmcrosby78 Lol. That's just the one I was looking at in the original post. It looked like the best deal ever, but I guess it was to good to be true (never got a response back so assuming they sold it!). Hi Towknee I've been there once on a family bike trip, it is massive! The locals there knew what they were doing and were fully set up, but I only had a few measly SP's and my telescopic line. They, on the other hand, had a heap of lines, and one of them was even using pike gut for bait! Cheers Hamish

I think that would be a lot more than $13, Angry51! Cheers Hamish
  10. I will make sure to get it off you to file a complaint if I do not start to get paid next term (3 weeks). Then again, I may get in trouble. They might not like the fact someone who isn't even a teenager is calling and complaining I may also invest in a quality heavy set up (50LB) for sharking and heavy fishing in general if I have enough by Summer holidays...Then I just need to try and catch something on it I reckon I'll save for a boat first though and put that other idea off for a couple years. Cheers Hamish
  11. Good luck ellicat. Hopefully you manage some bigguns! Cheers Hamish
  12. Right. I'm doing the first term for service hours for my school (I'm trying to get the gold award which requires 40 hours service). I've started trying to hit up my dad for money though but he wants me to finish off this term as 'probationary' dunny cleaner Cheers Hamish
  13. Hey jon It's looking very much like you've caught another trophy fish. The snapper in your profile makes you look tiny Cheers Hamish
  14. Cheers for the offer KM. I'll be after a 7 footer (but if a really good deal on an eight comes up I'll take it). I don't mind the normal bottom pocket net, as I'm just collecting bait. My budget is $50 max, as I'm just looking for a good second hand deal and they seem to come up too (and it can't break the pocket money bank which has not had any money put in since my Birthday... I'm a bit lazy today ). Cheers Hamish
  15. Hey Davo00 I've never been there, but it looks like it'll be a fun spot to visit on your trip. Here are some website links I've found (you may have already seen them though) - https://taylorsbeach.net/gallery/fishing-at-taylors-beach/ Just realised those are offshore (or reefs), sorry. Hopefully you have a great time. Seems you can get grunter, barra, and a couple other things in the creeks though. Hope to hear how you go! Cheers Hamish
  16. Yep, I realised I should've kept my eyes open while waiting for that other one because then I would've snapped the $20 net up quickly, kmcrosby78. I've also been looking through some other things and found some decent deals on reels, rods, etc. They'd be the perfect thing for anglers starting off as they look in good nick and are cheap enough so if you break it it doesn't really matter! Cheers Hamish
  17. Hey Jaz44 Thought I'd just say good luck in finding a boat. I really hope it goes well for you. Must best advice would be to read reviews before you buy it, and if possible go for a test drive. Cheers Hamish
  18. The person who had one up for forty-five bucks never got back to me (I sent two follow up messages and they've seen them), so I'm guessing they already sold it. Lucky I found one for twenty dollars, (in 'good' condition). Only problem is it's in Cambridge, Tasmania. Lol. Shipping will probabnly cost twice as much! Cheers Hamish
  19. Hey aussie123 Best of luck with your cancer. I hope it stays away forever now Cheers Hamish
  20. Unlike your bot GregOug, which looks like it would bloody cause a volcano eruption if it went up a creek, kayaks have the element of stealth and do not cause volcano eruptions when the outboard is turned on Cheers Hamish
  21. Thanks for the tips samsteele115. I'll be using them whenever on the yak in the river. They're the perfect thing to throw around structure while my dad or I does cast netting. If we stop at one of our spots, one of us can walk up and throw it around mangroves or something while the other is throwing the net. They seem quite versatile. One trip I want to do with my dad on the school holidays (coming up) is a trip to the GC canals targeting bream... only problem with such light line is when bigger fish (like a cod) bites on. Might have some trouble getting one of them out of snags. Also, just a question, can they be used at night with efficiency? I'm thinking of flicking along some spots this weekend because Saturday night is the only time I'll be getting out (if my dad ends up wanting to go out). Hey kmcrosby78 Haha, yep. Hopefully I don't get snagged or busted off so I can keep using these! I also hope I can write up some good stories about them in coming times (and not the donut variety)! Cheers Hamish
  22. Hi all Just wanted to say a massive thanks to @samsteele115 for mailing me some bream lures and leader! They're in great nick and look fabulous. I cannot wait to catch fish on them (hopefully!) Excitement! Woohoo! I can't thank you enough Sam. Also, my dad and I are hoping to get out for a session this weekend so we're going to try these at the mouth of a little-ish feeder creek. (If we find time for a fish). Cheers Hamish
  23. Nice one. That jack is a good fish. Must've been great fun on ten pound. I have never caught a jack (not yet) so I hope to get one sometime (even though that may be in X amount of years ). Cheers Hamish P.S. I am multi-tasking now. Japanese work and AFO!
