Ballina this weekend

I have to go to Ballina for the weekend due to work but thought I would take down the tinny and sneak a few hours in fishing , does anyone have any suggestions on what to target and where to go down there?

As I said i have a boat and will probably just stay in the river but if conditions are right i might go off shore but it will not be too far.

Any info / tips would be graetly appreaciated

No idea about offshore spots down there but the river in the boat and all the headlands and rock bars landbased are great places to be. Seems there's a few large tailor in the area too (in case you missed the reports and FOTM entry)

Thanks Ellicat and I agree its a bit hard to miss a tailor that size, I am in ballina now and will give the river and rock bars try. I am just about to go and see Daves tackle shop and scrounge up some local info

Ive fished a bit down there,

Drift the rock wall south side of river opposite the RSL.

The pacific highway Bridge, Nth west side around the old timber piers. 1hr before high tide, then hit the concrete bridge pilons on the run out. Plenty of flatties about at present, May even pick up a jewie at night.

Sunday night is looking good, tides & moon O.K
